View Full Version : Update v1.1 available for English version (boxed)

An update is now available for the North American English (boxed) version of the game, which brings it to v1.1. You won't be able to play Caesar IV Online until you've updated with this. International and digital download customers do not need this patch.

What!!! There is an update for the English version even though it isn't released yet!!! Some 25 days before release? OMG! :eek: *wonders what is the matter with the British English* ...

I think he means US English as opposed to UK English. :)

Probably will work on the UK game too...

You mention Digital Download...?

There is at least one company that sells games as digital downloads which has permission (legal) to do it:D Usually it's fully patched version or at least the first patch.
Think Reed is talking about US English version bet the English UK version will be patched before it's sold;)

Wish i could buy the game but living in the UK we are penalised by yhe company,by the way there is only 1 english,wot about a welsh patch since most americans come from wales or ireland

You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version.

That is what i get when i try to install the patch,i seem to have an unpatchable version.

I bought it the day it came out,shouldn't do that,buying unfinshed games.:(

This is an old sticky, Haasje. Only links here are for US 1.0 to 1.1

US versions only need the 1.2 which also includes the 1.1. Do not use the US 1.1 Patch at all any longer.

Non-US only need the 1.2 ~ they came 1.1.

You can use the Official C4 Site link at the top of the forum page with the correct language, but This Sierra/VU Games link (http://www.sierra.com/en/home/games/game_info.tab-downloadtab.prod-L2NvbnRlbnQvc2llcnJhL2VuL3Byb2R1Y3RzL2NhZXNhcl9pdl 8%3D.platform-global.html) is better.

ok.. i downloaded the 1.1 and 1.2 patch's.. and when i try to install them it tells me that it detected 0.18.013 and is already installed but i run it and my version still says 1.01

First of all, Loganwil2, I am not a Tech Team member in any way. (Disclaimer).

Do you have the UK version? If so, then you need the UK English 1.2 Patch.

Also, if you have changed any game files, you might not be able to patch it. I don't know about download game versions. They might not be patchable with these patches.

I'm guessing here.

its us version fresh install no edited files... unless walmart has a dif version..

OK, let's try this again, Loganwil2. You went to my link above & not one of the earlier links in this thread (there were problems back then). You tried the US 1.2 patch that is about 29mb, & it didn't work?

PS ~ It also sounds like you did the 1.1 Patch first. You should have ignored it. Anyway, try rebooting your computer & then the 1.2. The US 1.2 is supposed to work on either the 1.0 default or the 1.01

eh i got bored and tried it.. i reinstalled and tried only the 1.2 and still same thing... ugg... no worry ... if you dont know, im not going to get mad..

I know it has been more than a year, but if anyone is still having problems patching with the error of having version 0.18.013, here is a solution that worked for everyone up 'till now:

Just use this patch instead of the normal one (it might look the same, but it'll work, just try it ;) ):
