While learning the game is still the best tried and true method of playing, everyonce in a while I (and I know you do aswell!) want to sneak in a cheat or two to help myself along. ;) Does anyone know of any cheat codes for Caesar IV?

I imagine there are. Few games come without them these days. They usualy make us wait a while before publishing them.

Hmmm. You wonder what they took out before they release the game. :)

Developers use them while testing the game to get past probem spots. Some are left in for the folks who need help while learning the game.

yes I know, infact if I make maps I will likely use them as a debug aswell;)

Some of the cheats would "break" the game for me, such as the denarii cheat in that if I dont have to worry about denarii then half of the game is gone for me.

But I do however like the disable requests cheat and might try that one out as theres nothing more annoying to me than having Rome stick their nose into my city and demand that I give them something that I have not even remotely had a chance to start producing or have the population and or workers to produce. I get the feeling that Rome must be a very disorganized place if they have to ask a new Governor such as myself for 25 marble or 50 grain of food, and must really not care about my plebes happiness because at how quickly the requests come in, I've just barely setup nice living areas for my people, if I were to honor every new request that Rome sends me I'd have to slap up tons of insulaes all over the place and then deal with the rioters. I think I'd rather lose some favor with rome than deal with rioters who might be hunting to see my head on a stick.

For example, I just setup my basic city and then Rome pops in and tells me that they would be honored if I would send them 50 Grain, and the game tells me I've only got 1 grain in stock and I've just about started the game, there is the buttons that say, ship it and somethign else, I'd really like TM to put in another button that says "Tell Rome to stuff it" and send that response back to rome. Maybe it would get them off their high horses and make the plebes in Rome get to work producing some grain for them. Then there is one where they tell me they would like 25 or 50 marble in the next year. Huh? What? Marble? So you want me to go and waste my meager resources setting up 3 to 5 marble quarries so that I can ship you 25 or 50 marble when I could better spend the denarii on my own citizens needs. Go to Hades Rome! You ain't gettin' 'nuttin from this Govenor so stop your whining!

See...... The disable requests would come in handy for me.... HAHAHAHAHA

//grumble grumble. Harumph, tell me they want grain will they, we'll see how long caesar lasts when i send my personal chef over there, grumble grumble LOL.

I always loved the "Behead the Emissary" option in E:ROMK.

Nothing like a head in a bucket to get your point across.

It seems that the developers took out most of the cheats from the languagetext.xml file. The only ones that work are:
1. Win (instant win)
2. Denarii <#> (give # of Denarii)
3. Jupiter (lightning bolt smites target)
4. Savings <#> (give # to governor savings)
5. Unlock (no idea...)

Although, there is a way to access some of the other cheats. Where it shows the string id, there is no text, so all you need to do is just insert any text you want. Example:
Find this string:
<String id="CHEATCODE_007"></String>
Replace with:
<String id="CHEATCODE_007">Losegame</String>
Type in "Losegame" inside of the game, and you will instantly lose the game.

Here are some other codes that I found:
CHEATCODE_002 = Select a Static Object According to ID Number
CHEATCODE_005 = Show a List of Cheats
CHEATCODE_007 = Lose the Game
CHEATCODE_010 = Give Some Resources to a Building
CHEATCODE_012 = Take Away All Resources From a Building
CHEATCODE_026 = Disable All Fires
CHEATCODE_027 = Change Favor (from -100 to 100)
CHEATCODE_029 = No Dissatisfaction
CHEATCODE_030 = Building Fire Risk (0-100)
CHEATCODE_031 = Building Collapse Risk (0-100)
CHEATCODE_033 = Turn Off Plagues
CHEATCODE_036 = Earthquake
CHEATCODE_037 = Rain
CHEATCODE_039 = Upgrade a House
CHEATCODE_042 = Echoes Text
CHEATCODE_044 = Turn off Military Morale
CHEATCODE_045 = Turn off Requests from Rome
CHEATCODE_046 = Shows Last Game Messages

I haven't figured out the rest yet, so maybe someone else can help in filling out this list.
