Trade Route Crash

I read somewhere that the techies/devs said this was a very hard bug to replicate but its in fact very easy to find out why. This bug as far as i can tell ONLY occurs when u try to open a trade route with no city developed, i played through 3-4 cities in the republic campaign and the whole learning campaign and had no problem opening trade routes. yet i went into a new map, tried to open a trade route with no city developed by by C4, CTD. Unless someone has this bug when attempting to open trade routes with developed cities, seems to me this is the source of the crash and a good point to look for a work around/patch of some sorts.

ok upon futher testing, 100% of the time, if u start a new map, and open a trade route before doin anything else the game will crash. devs/techies/helpers PLS READ THIS, thats all u have to do to replicate this bug. i am unsure if the fix proposed in the other thread works having not tried it.

Cheers Knoddy Please try the fix in the other thread and report if it works or not. The more people with this crash try out the fix and post their results there, the more the devs will know if that part of the script (or whatever its called) is the culprit!
The problem is that this trade bug does not happen to everyone, therefore they can't simply reproduce it!

my point is exactly that it doenst happen to everyone, it didnt happen to me till i made it happen. wot im trying to explain is how to recreate the bug that all these people are experiencing, the MAJORITY (note i say majority not all) of people with the bug, experience it because as soon as they load a new map they go and open trade routes, the people who dont experience this bug are those who develope there city somewot then go open trade routes. neway will be away a few days so wont be able to try and see if the fix works. Gl to all with problems.

Ah, yes, I see.*slaps own head* I'm sorry, I misunderstood you (I must not have been fully awake yet. :o ).
But I'm really curious if it happens to everyone who opens the trade routes first or only to some.
TM knows by now that the early opening of said routes are causing crashes, the question was - where in their codes lies the culprit. That's why I pointed to that other thread to get as many results in as possible.

I usually open my trade orutes immediately, on pause, before building anything and I never got a crash.

I have a dell d810 2.17 2 gb ati radeon x600 128mg. When I click on the trade bldg early on, my comp locks up, flashes several screens, ultimately clears and a error report wants to be sent to ati radeon. Lately, early in the game my system locks up and a blue screen with yellow dots comes on and I have to shut down.

When I call Tech support, I get transferred to India and the 3 techs I dealt with ultimately had language issues.

Who has a notebook system that has played this game with no glitches??? Please post your system specs. Thank you:mad:

When I click on the trade bldg early on, my comp locks up, Hi, frustratedfan.
I don't know if you've noticed it and have tried it yet, but there is a temporary fix for the trade route lock ups. Follow the the advice here (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10474)and you shouldn't have that problem anymore, as it seems.
