Hi,
I installed Caesar IV and when I click on "Play" I get an arrow with a whirling disc. After a bit I get a message saying that I can't use a backup copy of the Caesar disc but rather must use the original. Well, I am using the original, purchased and opened the box myself. I called tech support and they could not solve the problem.... any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kuplo

You've probably already done it but if you have another cd drive in your computer, then try that one, or if you happen to have an old cd drive laying around in your garage, then if you feel comfortable then install that drive in place of the one you have now. Don't jump down my throat, I've had to do this in the past, except I ended up buying a new CD drive because mine wouldnt work with a games copy protection for some reason, even though the drive was relatively new. So if you've got one laying around (I've got about 4 of them in the garage) then give it a shot if nobody else comes up with anything more usefull that will work for ya.
Also how old is your computer? Specifically how old is your cd drive or your dvd drive?
Also post your dxdiag.txt even though it may not be needed, people will probably ask you for it anyway.
One last thing, I think there should be a link to the copy protection companies website in the error popup window that appears when it tells you that you need to put in the original, if so then click on it and visit them and if there is not a solution immediatly then contact them to see if they can help ya.

Daemon Tools? Uninstall.
This happens to me sometimes when I click the icon on my desktop. When it happens, I open my disk drive and close it without touching the disk. I then get the window from the disk. When I click play on that, the game runs fine.
Hope this works for you.
