Here's the trouble I've run into:

I think on the third tier military city, I had established two trade routes. One was land, the other water. Everything was going smoothly. Some Gauls got it into their heads to raze my port. I rebuilt it and turned buying/selling back on, but now no ships will come. The land traders are still coming to my city. There's a thread going in the VU Games forum, but I thought I'd try here as well. Can anyone think of something I might be doing wrong?

Trade route is open, the port is fully staffed, packed with lumber, they've bought 96/255 for the year, and the port is placed correctly in regards to the river and roads. I've even tried removing and replacing the port, as well as closing and reopening the trade route.

Here's the thread on the VU forums: http://forums.vugames.com/thread.jspa?threadID=33102&tstart=0 Contains a savegame if you feel like mucking with it.

From what I've seen, it can take up to a full year for a trade port to begin trading again after being destroyed (as well as when they are first built).

Also, check that your port is built so that the jettys are in the water, there have been some reports of this affecting the ports ability to function.

Have you by any chance built a bridge? normal bridges are unpassable by ships.

This mission is Burdigala? I think it is a bug. The sea trade route buys timber and sells wool, but the ships sometimes will stop coming if you have bought your quota of wool or aren't buying it, after they have bought a certain number of wood (about 120). As a workaround you can try limiting the number of wool your trade station will accept to no more than 4 and have a warehouse or armor workshops nearby so that wool is cleared from the trade station. Or you can turn off wool importing each year until the ships stop coming (when wood export reaches the point where ships no longer come unless they have something other than wood to trade) then turn it on which should make them start coming again.
