i am using this computer to play Caesar IV with 3rd setting from the top (best graphic to performance) (1024x864) and having lag in the game. it is playable, but not as enjoyable. i bought a Geforce 7600GS (512M) today and having the same setting, it doenst improve and smooth as i was expected. still jumpy. it will only smooth with the 4th setting and downward(5th is very smooth).

so is my old configuration bottleneck is not on my graphic card? or even my cpu is pulling me down?

what is the configuration for the best graphic setting?

what should i upgrade from my old configuration to have a smoother gameplay?

thank you

Have you tried playing with the sound turned off completely? (to check if there lies the conflict) Try to find newer sound drivers - if such exist.

Did you hook up your video card to the PSU?

Did you turn off all unnecessary programms and applications prior to running the game? Did you defragment the harddrive lately?

it doesn't have any newer after this.

it is fanless, so it is not needed.

no other applications. didnt defrag my drive lately tho, may try it out.

Thank you for your reply.

it doesn't have any newer after this. Ah, I was afraid of that. Meh. :o But have you tried turning the sound completely off? Does it have an effect?

it is fanless, so it is not needed. It's not the fan I was thinking about, but most new cards need the be fed directly from the PSU to have enough power and run smoothly. But I guess you've checked the manual of the card before installing it. It should have been written there if it needs a direct connection.

no other applications. Okay, then there does not lie the problem.

Thank you for your reply. You're welcome.:D
