I can't connect to server

I made a username, installed MySQL database etc. etc. etc. and applied the newest patch, but when I login, I get:

"Connection to server cannot be reestablished".

Why?

I have no firewall, no anti-virus, nothing at all.
I do have a router, though, but this shouldn't be any problem.

I too have been getting this messge but it happens in mid game. i willl be working on a map and I get a window from caesar 4 telling me connection cannot be reestablished. I click OK and then it askes me if I want to save progress and I click yes but it doesnt save the progress.
