This scenario (built using version 1.2) is based on the Cyrene sandbox map, which I've left essentially unchanged - apart from adding three structures that may or may not have something to do with the plot. As the intro says, you can either try to meet the challenge of achieving 'perfect city' ratings, or just play it as a sandbox. Other than that, it is not intended to be especially difficult, and there are no great military threats (especially if you have lots of denarii ;) ). There are (hopefully) one or two surprises in store, not all unpleasant...
As with some other user-created scenarios, not all buildings are available from the start. To unlock them you will usually need to work on growing your city or increase your ratings. One further hint: to persuade Equites and Patricians to turn up, you will also need to consider what sort of things they need (as opposed to 'would like to have'), and show you can provide them.
Finally, my thanks to Pecunia for the discovery on which much of the main plot depends - and to Mark Duffy for inspiring the sub-plot. :D
I hope you enjoy it - bug reports/feedback welcome!

Ugh ~ Perfect City Ratings? I'm not worthy yet !?!?!

You're welcome Mark :) The problem is, having called this Cyrene Revisited I now feel I have to do a third in the series to complete it...
Incidentally, there is a minimum population requirement, even though the goals don't say so (and though they probably should have): if anyone wants a hint, it's 4000.

I brought this up from the mists of time because I thought it seemed wrong that there were no win screens posted. :D
Rather a tough start. Personally, I thought the cash was a little low for experimenting to find the way to bring equites to the city. Man, a few months without equites, everyone sick and Jupiter starts throwing thunder bolts. I ran out of money about the same time equites could be coaxed into coming to the city. Since I hadn't built any of the health buildings, I needed to declare failure and start again. Ha! The second time it was much easier knowing where to pour those first denarii.
I had a wonderful city, with all the ratings except favor met. For such a high favor, I think the requests should have come more often. I finally gave up and gifted my way back to Roma. (It reminded me of my time in Hippo Regius, where I stubbornly refused to gift to victory. Ah, the good old days. :p )
Very nicely done; great storyline too. Here's a few (several actually) vanity pictures of the finished Cyrene.

Gosh, I'd almost forgotten this one! The first "proper" scenario I produced (I never really counted Djedu Revisited as that was just a demo really :p ). Back in the days when i never really thought of myself as a scenario designer, but thought I'd post something as nothing much else seemed to be going on... Now it seems I have no escape :o Four C4 projects on the go and another two looming on the horizon...
But yet another great city Jimaaten! Thanks for trying out this old relic of a scenario. I hope you'll try Arabian Bizarre when it launches... :)
