Preview (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/simcity-societies/800780p1.html)

Bit of the preview:

"The Creative city, on the other hand, has street lamps shaped like candy canes and factories that puff out smoke shaped like musical notes and Gingerbread Men. They also have a "Spirit Squad" building that unleashes a horde of cheerleaders to make Sims in the street happy."

I don't know. I am not a SimCity fan but I am a city builder fan from way back to Ceasar I days. This game sounds kinda silly. Zeus is the only city builder I didn't play because I couldn't get past the cartoony graphics. This sounds like it might be the same.

Spirit squad? Candy cane street lamps? What? I know that is only one type of city you can pursue but still sounds kinda silly to me.

Guess we will see later in the year but right now I somewhat skeptical but more puzzled than anything. I'm not quite sure what this game is, what its about or what you are supposed to get out of it. The screenshots I have seen of it don't look very cool. They don't look very cohesive, they look more scattered. Not like a tight city builder.

We'll see.

I'm guessing that's the most extreme case than the norm. Or at least, that's what I'm hoping! :o

The way I understand it SC:S is going to have a number of different kinds of cities that can be built with the candy cane type as just one type:D Since none of know how the game will be structured it's pretty hard to say if it will be anything like the city builders that we have come to expect;)

Thank you for the link, FomarTHain! :)

More beanz !!!

No word yet on what happens when the Men in Black meet the Spirit Squad, but I'm hoping for something spectacular.

< snot laugh :D >

EDIT: This line from the preview ~ "In fact, with the exception of laying down a road network, there is no player-controlled infrastructure in Societies." I believe to not only be false, but HUGELY false.
