Not sure this is the correct forum to post this in because it isn't an editing problem but a "dumb mistake I made" error.

I decided I wanted to do some experimenting and that Amida was a good map for this. However after messing with the map I saved to the original file instead of making a new one. :eek:

Is there any way I can extract the original map from the disk? I have looked at both disks but can only find the hml file. Don't need that just need the map (scn?) file.

On a fun note though I did play around with the map trying out some of the things I learned on this Board.

I got a laugh out of this. Wish I could post a video instead of a snapshot. The prefect was chasing those enemies all over the map.

Short of reinstalling the game, the only thing I can think of is to get someone to e-mail the scn to you, although there might be EULA issues with this. Can't see it being an issue if you own the game though. Keith might be able to advise in this regard.

Technically, you aren't supposed to transfer, trade, or swap original game files according to the Eula, but I don't think anyone is going to report you in this case. Best do anything like that off the boards though.

You could just install another copy of Caesar IV to a seperate path, if the installshield will let you, which it may not, then copy the map over before you uninstall the second install. Or install to another machine if you have one and then snag a copy of the map.

:doh::bangs head against wall:

Thanks Keith. I still have my old PC. I may try installing C IV to it. Won't play worth a shirkat but all I need is the file. :)
