I was looking at the pictures here (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13038) and I am wondering where you got all the port scenes. Please, anyone on this forum, post where you got cool custom content (with credits).

I get all my purty Korean buildings from Simtropolis.
Without custom content, SC4 vanilla is horribly repetitive. :o

I love all the custom bats of SC4 and i wouldnt even begin to attempt a list of credits , although a few guys have done a lot of coastal stuff , which looks fab and is easy to use .
The goal in SC4 custom bating , seems to have gone down the "very realistic "path. And thats how most custom content is judged .
An interesting twist with SCS is the fantasy buildings , may play a much larger part in the game , i can see it now . Noahs Ark Nightclub , a fantasy building that mods and gives quadruple creative energy bang over 5 times the radius for half the cost .
Thing i would realy like to know right now , i havent seen this ,exept once and it was ignored , is . What software do bat makers or whatever they are called in SCS, need to be able to produce models for SCS ?.
I suppose , you could mod the energies out ,if you wanted . Also you could change the colour pallete ,yada, yada once you have achieved this , you would then be able to rebuild SCS , with completely all your own content ,use it as the environment for your own , one off unique little virtual world . The guys that want reality could always ,just spend the ?2100 on max studio 08 and build your most realistic city ever in the viewport.
I would realy hope , that we can use , from free gmax -upwards to produce custom content for SCS, you can produce low detail low poly stuff , but you can also go detail if you want to push your luck so to speak .
The only thing any of us need to know to resolve the SCS custom content making ,truth crusade is ^^ .

I don't think anybody really knows anything about making custom content for SCS yet. And I personally have no idea how to make ANYTHING.

I've been watching for it, but I have nothing but "It will allow C# programming and use XML files." Which could mean ANYTHING without specific examples.

They're too vague with everything.

I'd like to use Simtropolis content, but each time I try, I somehow find a new way to screw it up without understanding how. Especially with maps. It needs to be MUCH easier to import custom maps and buildings.

was SC4k really designed around the idea of easy modding and communities like ST?

Quote King Faticus "was SC4k really designed around the idea of easy modding and communities like ST?"
With included tools like the BAT and lot editor , i believe sc4k was designed around the idea of easy modding , Drag and drop makes game ready files , dont get much easier than that .
Im still waiting my copy of SCS although they did say i would get it the 15th , i would hate to discover the only tools with the game are a pdf C# help file at the EA website .

I am more interested in how easy it is to manage all the potential mods
and if I can quickly switch them on and off without spending much time or thought
I mean is there a program that does this or will I have to keep and manage folders of mods manually..
