Please TMill... keep laptop users and trackball users in mind and DO NOT rely on scroll wheels or desktop keyboard layouts.

Alot of people also use trackball mice becuase of desk space limitations or for better comfort. I cannot use a regular mouse for more then 4 hours or my hands and wrists hurt. I can use a trackball all day.

People might just be playing with a laptop and some people do not have desktop computers specially if they move alot or want to save space or go more green and not have high electric bills. Keep these people in mind and you will do better. Also make it work for intel graphics chipsets! I hate being locked out of some awesome games becuase of this!

I have an intel GMA 900 (i950 chipset) graphics card on my laptop and I will be traveling alot this next year and I would love to play SCS on the road. So will alot of other people!

I also will tell you that nvidia or ati mobile graphics cards are harder to come by in laptops for a decent price and you need to pay 1000 dollars to get one in a decent laptop. Most people today still have the intel chipsets in thier laptops and they would like to play this game and others but they feel left out becuase the developers assume that everyone plays it on desktop computers. Intel chipsets for graphics are the most popular laptop GPU out there.

Second life isn't compatible with intel graphics and thus it locks alot of people out of the game. And laptops are eventually going to replace desktops. medieval Lords (made by rival monte cristo- makers of citylife) would not even play on my laptop it would refuse to load and It pissed me off!

I hope TM is keeping this in mind! Thanks alot!

Aye. SC4 is on my laptop, given that Mikaela isn't using the second license. AND... I had to violate the copy protection scheme, elsewise the CD drive quickly runs out the battery power, not to mention it's stupid to have to carry around 1 CD per game on the laptop simply as a disk dongle. But I digress.

I second the notion of testing SC:S for a variety of Human Interface Devices (HID's). I shall note that Caesar IV does NOT run on the Intel graphics chipset. C4 REQUIRES NVidea. Elebit, you might just be shut out on this one. :(

Needless to say, I shall NOT be purchasing a license to C4 with intent to run it on the laptop. Since it flat-out didn't work when I attempted to install it there, and I found note it WILL NOT work.

C4 runs perfect on my lappie-and intel chipset. It is a shared 128MB model too. SCS might just work! If they don't make it scan hardware..

My laptop doesn't have something specific for rendering. Diffuse Lighting, or something I found mention of concerning Intel graphics chips. C4 has an NVidia splash screen. I'm not clear on what an NVidia splash screen means, other than 'if you play this game, you really should be using an NVidia graphics card'. I suppose that means if C4 HAPPENS to work on your Intel chipset, count your blessings. All & all I think it's a graphics hardware issue on my particular laptop, and I won't plan on playing SC:S on it. SC4 is ok for the laptop, though. > : )

They are just promoting nvidia, nvidia gives them money to do it. Just like the alienware and ati promotions. I've seen games do the ati thing too. It's all marketing.

(gets all squeamish) Eewwww.... Marketing! (shudders)

That's ok. I just rename the movie files and they go away!
