The option to micromanage or not micromanage everything. Sounds good to me. :) It also appears that they've bumped up the number of buildings - from the announced 350 to 500.

350 was the number of buildings, 500 refers to the number of all objects, which is buildings + decoration. From what I remember, by the time they talked 350 buildings, they also talked some 450 objects, so there may be some increase in number indeed! We just don't know if it's buildings or decorative stuff or both...

No matter there are how many buildings and objects, I think the option that allows us to choose 'more micromanage' or 'less micromanage' things is the 'factor' that makes me love this game more than before :P Although I still feel that the graphic is not really very 'realistic' (lack of '3D' grasses), but I think it's better that it will remain in this way, since C4 is using lots of system resource, making the game slower on my PC. (I also believe that the graphic engine is same as C4, am I right?)

Cool.
Yay! More buildings. I want to see them. But only 1 month and a few weeks left to go... :)
No, the graphics aren't very realistic, but you win some, you lose some.

There are 3-D grasses. See: http://uoem.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=4031&c=59 and if you don't like them, you can make your own.
I never heard them say "objects;" I think they said 350 buildings and 150 objects, making 500 total. That number does not seem to have changed.
I still hope I can learn to transfer buildings from City Life into SimCity Societies.
Have-Nots = industrial, Fringe = "productivity" + creativity, Blue-Collars [Allamerican] = industrial + religious, Suits = "productivity" + "prosperity" + knowledge/education (+ "spirituality"), Radical-Chic [Bobos] = creativity + wealth (+ knowledge/education), Elites [preppy] = (massive amount of) wealth/"prosperity"
The names in the brackets are what the game call the sub coltures (if different from English names and also only behind the scenes like as names of buildings, references in readme s and in several non-American versions.

Nice interview, with some excellent new information.
As an aside, I thought that Rachel Bernstein's remark about TM was particularly interesting: "They remain an independent company." Is EA in the market for a development company? Is TM the target for their search? Hmmmmmm. ;)

It's been years but I'm still stinging over what they did to the Ultima series and Origin Systems. RIP
