Some companies recently have had similar release dates world wide, but others do not. Has anyone discovered when SCS might be released in Europe or Australia or Asia?

Per the press release issued earlier:

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced that SimCity Societies, the newest edition of the top-selling PC gaming franchise, SimCity, has been approved for manufacturing and is expected to begin shipping to stores across North America, Asia, Australia and Europe on November 13th

Wonder if that includes Korea? I know that several games that are major franchises in the US and Europe (such as Civilization) are highly popular in some places, but are virtually unheard of in East Asia. Even if SCS were released in Korea, it's most likely only in Seoul and not in Jeju. :o

EA's official site over here still says November 15th. http://suomi.ea.com/releaselist.aspx Perhaps it's the localization that takes the extra two days, don't know. ;)

BTW this is going to be my very first game that I can play using my own language! :D

That's Finnish, right? You might be amused to know: when we here at Tilted Mill were testing the different localizations, we had a big whiteboard on the wall where everyone claimed a different language to test in. Finnish was usually the first to be taken. While unfortunately none of us can speak it, we love the way it looks on the screen -- any building description might be some lines by Eino Leino as far as we know!

Will, thank you for your lovely words. :o :) :o It is amusing but also embarrassing to hear that Finnish was usually the first to be taken when you were choosing among different localised versions.

To my great joy I had a chance to play SCS at our DigiExpo today, and I love it, the gameplay. But also because I could understand every single word, every single comical remark there is. Although understanding English is not a great problem to me, this time playing using my own language was such a thrill. I couldn't even imagine I would enjoy it that much!

Again TM team, thank you all for a great game! And knowing the Finnish version was so popular among you made me happy. :)
So I quote some of Eino Leino's words (about being friends in Smiling Apollo)

noin voimia hyviä voisi!
Oi, ihmiset, toistanne ymmärtäkää,
niin ette niin kovat oisi!
Miks emme me yhdessä käydä vois?
Jos murtuis yks, muut tukena ois.
Oi, ihmiset, toistanne suvaitkaa!
Niin suuri, suuri on maa.
