Unfortunately, the patch did nothing for the game especially the part that says "Fixed a random crash bug"...a lot of us cannot play the larger cities - cities with anywhere from 3000-10000 people will start experiencing C++ run error that will shut the game off sometimes no more than 3 minutes into the game. From all of us Sim Fans...Please HELP!:)

I'm sure the message is clear enough, it's just a case of public acknowledgment and setting expectations for a resolution.

OK, dummy question!

I downloaded the US patch from using the "check for updates" option on the game first page with the run, check readme, uninstall, etc.

I'm sure I ran the patch & it worked well with no problems.

My exe (SCS icon) in the game files shows file version 1.0.0.16 created 10/18/2007 8:56 AM 11.4mb w/o a modified yesterday.

I think I have checked all the screens & found no notation of a version number (can't even find a notation of version 1.0 vanilla). Readme still shows 1.0. I also looked for an additional readme, but could not find one ~ just the "original" one, I think.

When I start the game, it still shows the patch available on the "News" page & clicking on the "check for updates" still takes me to the EA update page, instead of giving me a "your game is up to date".

Should I reapply the patch or am I missing something? Also, what are the two new buildings/maps, cuz I don't see a difference.

Help the dummy, please.

EDIT ~ Patch file name is SCS_10016_DP1 if that helps. :o

I'm afraid the patch did nothing. The run time error still causes crashes as the above posts suggest. Interestingly though, the crash does not seem to happen in the tutorial phase, at least for me it doesn't.

Yes, for me too even after applying the patch, it gets' crashes after i start a new town. i even not layed 1 road, it crashed. i tried submitting the error thru Vista error reporting manager, still there's no solution for the error. im not able to play even for continue 20-30min. i remember NewYork Tycoon for this matter. They spoiled that game with all bugs. Does EA/TM planning a real patch to fix this issue.
