I have the same problem with the runtime error.
[Vista home premium, 6600, 2GB RAM, NVGeforce 8800 GFX]
I searched yesterday in the Internet for the Visual C++ ....
I don't know why, but after this update the problem was fixed:
Download the vcredist_x86 [Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package] at the Microsoft Download Center.
