Hi all :o)

I am having random crashes and these are becoming more frequent as my city grows as are alot of people here in the community forums. This is what I suggest to do:

1/ Ensure you have the latest patch for the game (1 I think).

2/ Make sure your computer operating system has all the available patches and updates installed.

3/ Update the video driver to the latest.

4/ Do no more than this as I'm convinced its the game at fault. It is simply unstable because it is new and has not been fully tested. I have been in this exact situation with new games and it happens almost every time a brand new game is released. Sit tight ...... EA will patch it and within a year it should be running faultlessly. Civ 4 was a shocker as was SimCity 4 at the start. Lord of the Rings online is full of problems at present so don't worry!!!!!

Don't reinstall your operating systems or gut out your computers just for 1 game. Ask yourselves how many of your other games give trouble. In my case its none !!!! ... Only SimCity Societies .... no other.

I play WOW Burning Crusade and it is faultless with 100's of crash free hours so can U see my logic ?.

I'm going back to SimCity 4 Rush hour as its a much more complex and entertaing game than Societies however I'll be back into Societies once EA and Tilted Mill sort their problems out. Its not my problem.

Sit tight ...... EA will patch it and within a year it should be running faultlessly.A year is unacceptable. It might take that to write the entire game, not a patch. I'd imagine we'd be looking at weeks for a fix for this.

It's fustrating because I really love the game. I was building a Cyberpunk city, saw the roads changing and could hear people being sick; cool. But as the population neared 12k and I added some more housing, it just dies.

Think of Microsoft Flight Simulator X. They released a game that didn't run well on all machines but SP1 gave a massive performance and stability increase. It was a huge patch too, rewriting many core files and also allowing more support for multi-cores. This did take a few months however.

 Its been a marathon but alas this one has beaten me. Uninstalled the game and will sell on Trade-me. It wins the prize for the most buggy piece of software I have purchased in my 21 years on computers. 3 patches achieved nothing!
