I'm surprised no one -including TM have put a mod in that mimics historical development.
I mean, seeing your city go from a small town with old cars and basic buildings, into industrial, normal etc. and then the future with the hi-tech and cyber stuff.

Certain key buildings would act as pre-requisites to unlock the more modern stuff.

All the code is there, sadly I'm not much of a modder.

Does the game even have time period specific buildings? They all seem to look rather modernesque style to me, but I've not unlocked any of the buildings that are down deep that might represent futuristic buildings either.

But if what you are talking about is evolution of the buildings automatically then I don't think that exists in SCS.

But with the buildings that are there now, I don't see anything that would stop a person from physically removing existing buildings from the landscape and replacing them with the more modern buildings as they become available but it would be a manual affair and not an evolution type of thing like the SC4 game had.
