Well, I've been hoping to get rid of this crash but it keeps occurring - now it won't let me play for more than a 10 minutes.
My comp far surpasses specs.
Updated #2. I start getting the runtime error around 10k pop and frequency increases until I pretty much can't play anymore.
I use Vista32, when I try to run as administrator I get the runtime error before it even boots up.
When I try running in Windows XP SP2 mode, as soon as the city loads my screen goes funky and freezes.
I downloaded latest video drivers along w/ Nvidia's Vista fixes.
I like this game, it's a break from COD4 - but I'm close to using this disc to put my beer on.

You have let steam off in 2 more posts so you will not have many answers I presume.
I will "try" to give you some help:
so you get an error at 10k pop............right..........to solve this stay just beneath 10k. *joke*
It looks to me as though you have a prob with your drive C........or soon will be having one with C. Did you know there is only 3.6 gigs free space left?
Arranging a C-drive with "only" 30 gigs looks like a joke to me, when the next drive has enormous 450 gigs!
(Exspect tons of more vista-updates to come soon..........and your temp-folders will be exploding!)
I know you have directX 10 but have you installed directX 9 on top of it yet?
If not.....do so!

the question to ask is if c is root and root is the the smaller drive does it only the OS (aka a system partion) and every thing else goes to the larger drive (including temp files prog files) ?? If so than they might not be as bad off as you think.

check with MS KB before running a downgrade of DX
If there is Vista with directX 10 installed then it does no harm or kill dx 10 if one installs directX 9 on top of it.
There are only additional dll`s added.
it is NOT some sort of "downgrading".
