Launcher Fails; Bypass Possible?

I'm having trouble with my SimCity Societies Launcher. When I try to start up the game, the launcher comes up totally white and my cursor remains an hourglass until I close the launcher. When I do, a Windows error report comes up. Now, I would think if I could bypass the launcher and go straight to the game, I'd be fine. Is that possible? If not, does anyone know of a fix for my situation?

Press and hold the SHIFT key as you insert the CD in your CD-ROM drive.

If you get a popup message about keyboard buffer overflow for holding down the SHIFT key too long just click on it's CANCEL button.

Otherwise for XP owners try:

1) Click Start, Run and enter GPEDIT.MSC

2) Go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System.

3) Locate the entry for "Turn autoplay off" and double click on it and modify it as you desire.

The default is NOT CONFIGURED and it may not need changing. You can try DISABLE.
