Do buildings needing a particular societal value require workers from homes using the same societal value? (Do the workers need to come from homes using the same value?)

Ie: All creative buildings must employ sims from creative homes? I do not understand the reasons for the homes needing a particular value if this is not the case. Is there a purpose for homes to have a particular societal value?

Also, what steps should be taken when no sims are going to a particular venue or workplace?
My Drama school does not seem to have any sims visiting. However, I guess I should really watch it closely to be sure, I have only occasionally looked at the number in the center of the card.

(My understanding of the numbers in the middle of the card: the number of sims that a venue or building serves, the number currently using it and the number who have used it on the bottom. Please tells me if I have misunderstood this.)

No sides to my buildings are blocked, a subway is located one building away on the same side of the road.

Has anyone had problems like this? If so, what did you do to help fix the problem?

lol, uh did you read the tips when loading a game? it says that the society values don't directly affect sims, the buildings do. So it really doesn't matter where your sim lives. Heck, your sim could live in a tenement and work in in a cybercorp office building (although that particular arrangement can be seen as a little odd, would make sense if the sim was a janitor for the building though).

As for the Drama School, the first number shows how many are in the building at that moment, the second number is the building capacity and the third one below those two shows how many sims visited the day before. There are many decorations and some venues which increase the attractiveness of a building, so if you want it to draw more sims, place some decorations of your choice.

Since it is a morning only venue, it won't get many visits during the workdays unless you have private homes and have children running around. It is also useful to have around for sims playing hooky.

Other than placing decorations that increase it's attractiveness or using the building's ability if it has one, you can't do much else to affect what venues sims visit.

The drama school, and other schools, will only be visited by employed sims on weekends, or by child sims and unemployed sims during the week. Schools close at midday, and are not available when sims get out of work.

Sims with maxed happiness will not visit any venues, but will wander around and make ooh and aah noises around decorations.

As far as I can tell, sims will work anywhere regardless of what kind of house they will live in, but prefer jobs closer to home. I do have a problem with some unemployed sims who are wandering around when job openings are available, and I'm not sure what causes that, but it happens more often as a city gets larger, so it may be distance related.

Visits by decorators and celebrities will temporarily increase both the popularity and happiness value of any venue, as will special functions on various buildings.

According to the in-game tips, sims are not directly affected by societal values, but the society as a whole is... whatever that means. Sims in different societies do seem to have different preferences in venue choices, bypassing some venues in favor of others, even traveling in mobs out of their way to visit a stone church I put out in the middle of nowhere (because it looked good there) in a contemplative society, and not visiting a stone church right in the middle of an industrial city in anything like those numbers, despite the widespread happiness deficiences inherent in that type of society (the church has a big happiness boost).

The societal values of the homes make some sense. Nicer homes consume a lot of a society's prosperity. The worst lower-class housing generates productivity. Monasteries produce a lot of spirituality.

I seem to be noticing that sims will prefer specific venues on specific days... Its like, Monday they go to the mall, then if there is time left, hit a food venue. Then Tuesday they will all want to goto the movies then shopping if time is left. etc...

I may be crazy, (oh wait I forgot I am crazy) but this seems to happening.

Also as the op said above, the sims preferences are very connected to the city type. It seems like all you need are malls, shopping centers and Art venues in Cyberpunk cities.
