Some new wallpaper posted today, which is nice, but the really significant part is it tells us when to expect the next rounds of goodies: July 13th and July 27th. And presumably at two week intervals thereafter.

I suppose I can just about wait that long :D

Just downloaded the little village one, know when to come back and check. Thanks.

Downloaded and "installed" one of the 800x600 ones, and rearranged my desktop icons again. ;) A bit of a problem with the 800x600 wallpapers is that the XP taskbar overlaps with the new logo. Perhaps it could be moved up a little in the wallpapers for the next month(s)? (Or the white separator could be shrunk a little?) The calendar is a nifty idea!

Once again I check the forums before the site, oh well, I'm off to download the new wallpapers :)

Hmm that is weird, I have XP and the 800x600 wallpaper and do not have that problem, the taskbar stops right under the word "Nile".

I think it would be nice for some full screen wallpaper as well I am not a fan of a big black space on my desktop.

So how about some nice art work to cover the whole screen please.
;)

Cironir, do you have the taskbar expanded?

Cironir, do you have the taskbar expanded?

Expanded as in more than one row of program icons? No, it's just one row. Here is what it looks like:

It's just three or four pixel-rows of "Nile" that are covered by the taskbar.

It is at 800x600. I wondered if it could perhaps be caused by the silver colour scheme, but I tested with the default blue, and it's the same. Here (http://www.similarities.org/misc/cotndesktop.jpg) is a shot of the entire desktop.

If you have a graphics editor like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro try resizing the image down to 90% of the original and see if that helps. Or resize it, then paste to to a larger 800x600 background so you have a small border around the edge and then merge the two and save it.

I gave it a quick try. I normally run 1024x768, but switched to 800x600 and had a similar problem with the 800x600 wallpaper you did. I reduced the wallpaper to 96% of the original size, then pasted it to a new 800x600 background, then filled in the border area with black and got the following results when I used it as wallpaper.

If you want it PM me your email and I'll send it your way.

That'd be awesome! My email address is cironir@furcadia.com. (I'm totally helpless when it comes to graphics software!) Thanks! :)

The point may be futile now that you've fixed it, but I think the problem is that you haven't locked your taskbar. That is to say, you can grab it with the mouse and drag it around. When the taskbar is not locked, it has the little frame above wich is exactly what overlaps the logo. If you right-click your taskbar, and untick the "Lock the Taskbar" item (second from the bottom), then there will be no overlap, because the extra frame will be gone.

Well, I just threw together something very vulgar, very quickly (15 minutes, using every graphical cliché I could think of). At least it's something for those who don't want to wait a month, and have problems with the task bar.

No, that wasn't it. I have mine locked and when I tried the same file in the 800x600 mode I had the same problem.

You have auto-hide taskbar on?

When I tried it, it worked like I said. See attachment.

Eh, your examples look the same to me. We're talking about where the lower taskbar cuts through the word "Nile" on the wallpaper. Both of your examples appear to do that even though one is slightly different...but not enough.

The lower one does cut through the world Nile there in Vovan's post. Anyway, nice one eobet. :)

Well, the way I figured it, the upper one doesn't actually overlap the word Nile. It's just pixel-perfect under it. ;)

Vovan's tip did make it look a bit prettier, but Keith's custom version is still nicer. :p Anyway, thanks to Vovan, I actually gained four pixel rows of space!
