View Full Version : Haunted Shack as a residency
02-20-2008, 10:31 PM
I have created the Shack to work as a residential lot. It produces one creativity, adds 2 happiness, and holds seven people. It still has the card to allow it to summon spirits, and shows up as a spooky home.
The shack is unlocked form the beginning of the city, and will show up in both the Fun and Show All archetypes, seeing that it is cloned from the Shack Venue.23398
Please use the SCS pack listed in the fifth post.

This is not acceptable - putting files into the main folder area is not the correct way to mod. Please create a mod for use with the documents and settings/all users directory (a SCSPack file).

I have absolutely no clue how to make an SCS pack.
If you would be willing to make it into an SCS pack, I would be very greatful.

OK, I will make you one, upload it here and post how I did it. That way we can share them in the future.

Here is the pack file.
There were quite a few revisions needed to your building xml. Please take a look at it. The house now spawns people, cars (including the hearse), and kids. The way to make this file is by copying the xml from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SimCity Societies\Import into My Documents\SimCity Societies\Export and running the game. The pack file is created in the export folder. Check the xml in the import folder to see what files were included.

Maybe I shouldn't try modding things, because clearly I have no clue what I am doing. And there is no documents and settings folder in this computer, I am running vista

Don't get discouraged. I love the idea and decided to make the corporate retreat a vacation home. (I used the dream home stats.) Keep trying, you'll get the hang of it. We need all the mods we can get!

yea, but it would help if i knew where to actually put the files.
In the files it only mentions where it is in XP.
Never mind, I need to go into users instead of documents and settings.

I use XP; don't know about Vista. Sorry.
