Actually never mind about using the hightmaps I found that out but how do you make maps? I have some real good ideas for maps. Such as I have topographic maps of places on mars. One would look good it is a dry river except the dry river would be water. I also want to make some maps of my own desighn but in other game you need photo shop and I don't have that. I am wodering since I seen greyscales of maps other players made and that kind of concernes me since that looks like photo shop was used.

Gimp is an application that is 'almost' as good as Photoshop and it is free.. many of the same options to. PS is better though not free.

Ok I can use that I have another question since I had a real neat idea. How do you make building mods? See I had an idea to make a small model of the world map. Complete with some of the worlds wonders such as eiffel tower leaning tower of pizza the pyramids big ben.
Bassically very regognissed wonders of the world. Mame amap that is the basic shape of the world map where you can recognise it as a world map. Also some of the maps gave me ideas such as seattle and new york how cool would it be to have say the empire state building or space needle in those maps to make it a little more authentic.

SCS building models are in XAC format. Presenly, there is no tool to allow for the use of new building models used so the only building modifications we can do are the alteration of building stats and characteristics and the textures of the building. However, it has been mentioned that there is a possibility that such a tool may be released sometime.

Oh so the buildings are simply the original ones midified? Ok so I guess the building thing is out of the question. Still a mini world map would be a cool idea. Also would like to do a custom texture since I had an idea to do a map that is a volcanic island. But to do that I need some lava textures. Which I immagine could be done since others have made custom textures for this game.

Custom textures are relatively easy to do. Editing the building stats are just as easy as well.

I made a greyscale map but how do I actualy make it into a map. It ends up saved as an image well how am I suppsed to use that as a map? I have no clue how to use that in a map and it seems very complicated to me to do. There is no where I have seenthat gives instructions for turning a greyscale into a map. The ones where you do use a greyscale had a map editor this game does not have one. So onces I make a grey scale file what am I supposed to do with it?
