Okay, so, Up until patch 3 I was getting a C++ runtime error that occured while the game was loading, I wouldnt even get to a intro cinematic or main menu or anything. After installing patch 3, I hoped it would work. No dice, it seems to have acquired a new problem. I start the program using the "-thellamasaysgo" bit to avoid the launcher, my computer seems to be loading the program, then suddenly it stops. No error message or anything, heck, theres not even an entry in my systems event log for the crash. I've actually watched in the processes tab of the task manager that Simcitysocietes.exe shows up, runs for a little then disappears. I noticed a process called csc.exe appears right before it crashes.
please note that I am using a fixed exe from securom as patch 3 initally gave me a "Conflict with emulation software detected" message.
Anyway, heres my Hijackthis and dxdiag.

edit: I forgot to mention that this same error occurs even if I go through the launcher.

O23 - Service: DomainService - Unknown owner - C:\NEWWIN\system32\dsvjmxdf.exe (file missing)

O23 - Service: MySQL - Unknown owner - C:\Program.exe (file missing)

I can't find any info on the first one. MySQL is used by many apps and games for online connections. The files are either corrupted or have been deleted.

I notice in the last two lines you have Spyware Doctor installed. This could be a problem or the whole problem. Over on the Sierra boards, I had a user having problems with crashes while running "World in Conflict". I had him disable or remove his copy of Spyware Doctor and that cured his problem. I can't say that this will happen for you or not.

It probably wouldn't hurt to run a good hard drive clean up and then do a a registry scan/clean.

Deleted spyware doctor. No effect. Problem remains. Also, if you have any idea where I can get replacement files for the 2 missing ones you pointed out, I'd appreciate knowing.

It is possible that the one file is no longer needed, a left over registry key from a deleted program. You can have HiJackThis delete it.

The other file I'm not sure where you can find a copy. Be careful of downloading any "copies" fo the file from the internet from unknown sources. That's where a lot of infections occur, often just buy connecting to a strange website.

Did you reboot your system after youd removed Spyware Doctor before you tried the game?

Did you try a registry scan and clean?

If you know of a good FREE registry scanner/cleaner, then please provide a link. The only scanners/cleaners I can find are all to happy to point out the problems but not actually DO anything unless I give the company money. And doing it manually is outta the question as I dont know which registry entries are vital system ones and which arent. I could probably guess on alotta them, but I'm not gonna risk my machine like that.

Ccleaner is what I use, it was recommended here for me. I have found it very reliable and good. And it is free, with many language options too. http://www.ccleaner.com/
