this game sucks

I bought this game Friday. It ran fine on Saturday except, I couldn't get the trees to work in the landscape section. I would get the green ok for placement. I would be charged for the tree, but there was no tree planted.:rolleyes:

I had read about all the problems with the upgrade 3, so I decided not to install it. Even without the upgrade, today the action is freezing up. Every action is much slower.

I have not been able to zoom out far enough to see more than a couple of buildings at a time. The only way to veiw the whole town is in the little bitty map screen where you can't see much of anything. I can't tell what my town layout looks like when I can only see a few buildings at a time.

So, I have spend a lot of simoleons on a game that, as far as I can see right now is frustrating and almost unplayable. In fact the frustration level is so high all that makes the game playable is that is does minimally run.

Wish I could get a refund. Guess I'll just unistall it and trash it. I wouldn't even try to sell it at a yard sale. This game sucks!!!

And I very much suspect it has done something strange to my computer. All I have as a cursor now is that hourglass thingy that means my computer is trying to do something.

this really burns me here is a another person knocking the game because
he cann't get to run right or fix the problems the computer may have with the game so he blames the game for his computer problems, just most players who do not read all the infomation before install the game.

I don't mind the game but it did get quite boring after 2 weeks of playing it. There could of been a lot more done with it.

I have not heard of any problems with update 3. I have been playing this game with few problems for quite some time now. try updating to patch 3 and see if your game works any better. it will not fix all problems (I still get freeze ups and graphic glitches every so often but not enough to be a bother for me anyway). just save often which always good advice for any video game!

as for the "boring" aspect, have you tried dling any of the mods? there are hundreds of buildings and textures and reskins available. there is a ton of stuff to design with this game. perhaps what you lack is inspiration? try looking at the screenies posted by hundreds of people here. they are very beautiful.

have you achieved all the strategic mode trophies?
have you built a full city within each of the profiles?
have you built a powerless city?
have you built a city with no streets?

there is a lot of stuff to do in this game trust me.

1/ The trees won't work if you have under 600mb ram and sounds like you have not.
2/Some had problems with patch 3 most didn't. Install it.
3/Have you changed your camera settings.Change them to free or there is a brilliant zoom mod out there.Download that.
4/Have you changed all your graphics settings to low.If you have 512mb ram you will really need to do this.

lol i'll have to say this again, this game is way to unstable.When i thought my conputer finally got it right with patch 2,patch 3 came out.Downloaded patch 3 and i got hell, even worse then the game unpatched.This is on an alienware too so i don't have a crappy conputer.I love this game to death, but i can never enjoy it without c++ runetime error or something else that closes the program in some sorta way.

The game does get boring if you walk into in the wrong attitude.Trying to see the "upgrades" from sc4, you will be fairly dissapointed.Walk into it with a creative attitude, you can never get off of the game, until the game crashes :confused:

Do you have low memory optimization on? If so, you won't see any trees or other things.
