Why am I so slow?

Oi cheeky none of that, I'm serious...

I have installed Sim City societies and patches 1 to 4.

My Specs are:
Pentium 4 3.06 GHz HT (Overclocked to 3.3) 533MHz FSB 512K L2 Cache CPU
2Gb DDR333/PC2700 RAM (2 x 1Gb Dual Channel)
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD2600XT 256Mb AGPx8 Graphics Card (Overclocked slightly)
SoundBlaster Audigy Player (Audigy 1) Sound Card.

I have a city with 49,000 Sims and all available space built on and I have to have ALL the graphics options set on low or it becomes totally unplayable. Even on Low it is slow, stuttery and pauses frequently.

What am I doing wrong?! Surely my system should be able toplay at least on Medium on all settings?! I know AGP is a bit old but lots of people are still stuck on it like me.

As Neither Tilted Mill or EA seem to be able to either help me or improve this game in general I have decided that enough is enough. I've uninstalled it and will no longer be buying any more titles in the SimCity franchise. It feels horrible as I have been playing Sim City since the very first version, but I can't take anymore. The game appears to need a super computer to run at maximum graphics settings and crashes frequently.

In future I will be buying and playing Cities Unlimited or whatever Monte Cristo decide to call it as I found their last City Sim very enjoyable.

Software companies have been getting away with producing shoddy work for far to long so I am taking the policy of voting with my feet.

I will only buy another sim city game as long as tilted mill doesn't make it they got rid of the good parts of the game.

LOL i have a supercomputer and it still doesn't work, although finnaly tilted mill is helping me.

But ONE thing to ask you, and this tell if you can have a easy work out, or you are screwed like i am....

do you have vista with sp1?If you do, then your screwed like i am.Now i know im not the only one in the club reading other people's problems.
