Will it be possible to give a specific bonus to a specific hero?
(Like a +1 sword instead of 500 gp.)

How about purchasing the treasure they find, so it can be given to a different person?

Well you can have your villagers make (ie. blacksmith) items like a shield, sword etc. and you can find loot which you can give out to your character or party members, and these can be magic items.

Jeff Fiske: Yeah. The maximum party size is four guys. Everything that is made in town and equipped on your characters can be seen simultaneously. Every sword, every pitchfork that you own, you can just drag it around to where you want it. It allows for ease of play and you become attached to that dilemma of how you turn the corner in your town. You’re not just looking at the lord; you’re looking at all the characters you might have in your party. Maybe you should be leaving your smith behind making shields for everybody instead of taking him with you because he’s good with a sword. I think the small scale allows us to push the game in a variety of directions.

I'm unsure whether we'll see heroes or not. There "you", the Lord and there'll be villagers, some more powerful than others, but I'm not sure if your more special and powerful villagers are heroes.

One of the interviews mentions you need to find an ancient tome for Wizards to come into your town. The rationale behind it is that there's nothing in your village the Wizard needs until you find that tome, because then the Wizard has a reason to come to your town: to study the tome and gain knowledge. Whether this Wizard is a hero or just a powerful villager, I don't know. And then again, what's in a name? :)
