King of Dragon Pass?

Some aspects sound like King of Dragon Pass:

which basically was about carefully leveling Leaders and then maxing out their use as much as possible once developed before they aged out.

They also had a fun five year season: Planting, War, Harvest, Winter and Storm.

Sounds like a similar concept, although "King of Dragon Pass" is termed turn based strategy and Hinterland will be RTS.

A pretty big difference, but conceptually they are close, I'm sure game play will be drastically different given that fact.

Actually I'm surprised no one compared it to Medieval Conquest, which is very similar but far more cartoony.

I have the game a played it more than most due to its similarity to Majesty. Not nearly as good a game as Majesty and just plain dull in parts, but it had some good ideas. Might be worth picking up if you can find it for 5 or 10 dollars somewhere.
