Memory Usage

I was playing in windowed mode earlier when I noticed the game responding a little slowly, so I check task manager and the game is using almost 1GB of ram (I have 2). Has this happened to anyone else? I don't really think a game should be using that much memory.

I have also noticed that the game users over 1 gig of memory/swap. And given the occasional freezes (the game just stops for up to 20 seconds,) my wild guess would be a memory leak and garbage collection.
