Hi
The name "Immortal cities : Children Of The Nile", does this mean that there is a series planned called Immortal Cities ?? And that CoTN is "just" the first one ?? (hoping :) )

... Or is it just a name for the official site....

Sorry if I have missed something obvious here ....

Sorry if I have missed something obvious here ....I'm pretty sure CotN is just the first of a new series of citybuilders. Much the same as their previous Caesar II, Caesar III, Pharaoh, Zeus and Poseidon efforts.

Yeah, I had much the same thought when I saw the domain was ImmortalCities.com. Any future games of this nature could easily be tagged on to the same domain!

They *did* also register the domain childrenofthenile.net; I wonder why and if they're going to do anything with it. Right now it just redirects to immortalcities.com/cotn/

I think that's for PR reasons, the official URL which will be released to the public will be childrenofthenile.net, because it's a convenient URL, easy to remember and easy to guess. However, as soon as it actually becomes a series, the official URL will be ImmortalCities, which then will be the name of the series. Just a guess though.

I think that "Immortal Cities" has to be a series. I must say that it is a very good idea since you can go to any civilization in the next game.

Ok, here's the scoop on the URLs. Though I do enjoy the speculation. ;)

www.immortalcities.com/cotn/ (http://www.immortalcities.com/cotn/) is the "real" URL, everything else is just an alias. There are a bunch of CotN urls that point there.

Normally www.childrenofthenilegame.com (http://www.childrenofthenilegame.com/) is what you'll see in press releases and the like. I guess you could call it the PR URL.

If you're not a bookmarker, and just type in the address to get to the CotN site, then you may be interested to know about www.cotngame.com (http://www.cotngame.com/)

Thanks for the explanation :) Now what about www.immortalcities.net? It's registered by Myelin Media but it doesn't point anywhere ;)

Doubtlessly registered to keep other folks (possibly with malicious intentions) from registering it.

That's clear, but why not let it point to www.immortalcities.com then?

Ok, now back to the first question. Is "Immortal Cities" going to be a series?

I still say, yes. "Cities" implies more than one.

That would be good, to me at least. I wouldnt complain one bit, especially if COTN is as good as it looks to be so far

I think that CotN is part of a series, but Egypt has many immortal cities by itself as well, so I don't think that the URL is really leading to something there.

Yep, they could be teasing us...after all, Rostja, Luxor, Elephantine, Alexandria...they are all immortal cities. ;)

I was just woundering if I could get a conformation from Tilted Mill, but looks like we will be left to guessing.

I don't really expect anyone at TM to announce here that there will be furture games in the series. The title leaves them open, and it would seem a logical extension given their history, but I doubt they would officially or unofficialy announce other games prior to the release of CotN.

Of course not. Things change. You don't want to make premature promises. And if, heaven forbid, the sales for COtN aren't real good, making another in that "series' might not be a good idea at the time.

I'm predicting this game will do as well if not better than the past citybuilders.

My thoughts are similar. It looks like such a great game, and plus...they have all the former Imps fans, now TM fans, buying it. One of the reasons I'm buying it is just because who's making it. ;) I trust they'll make a good game. :D

I look at it this way:

Under the worst possible set of circumstances, the game will be as good as Caesar 3.

And that ain't a bad thing. :D

From what i hear, not bad atg all :p
