Crashed and then unable to dismiss townies

I looted a shiny new dwarven sword and when I went to equipt it, Hinterlands crashed to desktop with no messages. Well not exactly desktop since it was not my normal resolution and there was no wallpaper. I restarted and was able to load the character I had been playing and everything seemed fine. But when I got to town I discovered that I had lost the ability to tell anyone to leave my town. I could tell visitors to leave, but folks in residence were there until death do us part since there was no button to dismiss them.

I have also had this problem, but it is not due to a crash.

Sometimes the "Get out of town for good" simply just disappears. I haven't been able to work out what is causing it.

Any update on this one? My dismiss button is missing.

Same here. It's a pain in the rear to have to demolish a perfectly good building just to get rid of someone.

Oh I figured it was a game mechanic, like you can't dismiss someone because they've been there too long or something. I'd love to see this fixed

If you are trying to resume a character after a crash that's the problem. You need to start a new character after a crash.

I don't think it's really worth restarting a game over if that's the only problem.

Anyhow, it's not crash-related. I've played two games now and in both cases I've had the button disappear on me without any warning, nor any crashes. Pretty sure it has nothing to do with older residents either, though I may be wrong.

While I have not had any crashing problems that others are experiencing, and I am running the game through Steam without any obvious problems, I am concerned that I too am seeing some of the same bugs as others.

Namely, that I have also run into the problem where the initial Start button doesn't want to do anything.

I've also had the game hang on the Creating World loading bar.

Finally, I too am unable to dismiss followers from my town.

I'm hoping there's a fix coming for these problems, but I see there's been no update for a couple of months, after several initial updates to the game.

Edit: started a new game, and now buttons are starting to go missing as well. How am I supposed to generate gold if I can't tell my followers to do such?

If this continues, the game is going to quickly become unplayable!


Edit: Today, the game has officially become unplayable, as I cannot get past the initial world creation when starting a new game. Incredible.
