Do you enjoy having raids on your town but never have a single ounce of fear? Tired of 3 wimpy trolls that just fall over at the sight of you?

This is for you...Now you can expect raids at the same intervals but they will feature mobs that are 75% harder then before. You will spend ALOT more time getting your camp ready for fights and you will need to have as many city party members to help you with these baddies!

Instructions :

1.Start a game and choose the character you want. Once the map loads and you pick your starter benefits save the game.

2. Goto C:\Users\Youraccount\Documents\Tilted Mill\Hinterland\saves on your pc and open the file with your save characters name. ie ..character.SAV
(this file opens easily in notepad)

3. once the file opens hit ctrl+f (which is find) and put in RaiderDifficultyModifier and hit find/search.

In the spot it takes you to , where it says RaiderDifficultyModifier = "0.25";

simply change the # from "0.25" to "1.95" and save the file.

Resume that character and enjoy , much harder raids...

What type of difficulty does it generate?

Increase in mob numbers, or levels or both?

using the change above mobs will go from your around your level to @2-4 levels above your level. (and since alot of people have townies and a dragon this is a great welcomed bit of challenge).

Amount of mobs is changed in the other topic I made about mob number editing. Happy Hintering!

I guess it is also safe to assume that lowering the number will make the raids easier :D :o

indeed. Any lower then .01 and your looking at barely level 1 mobs coming at you.

Thanks for the file path by the way.

I've never installed a steam game prior and had no idea where to find it. :)

Any ideas on how to teleport? Make teleport spots and destinations?

I want to mod out caves, crypts, and mines.

MORE LOOT!!!
;) more xp as well for those time when it's really hard to beat certain mobs and you wish you could have leveled again.

I'd like to have additional areas you don't need to beat to complete but add more to the depth.

A cool score modifier would be a tally of how much loot you sold or total gold acquired through out the game.

You can modify each tile of the map and what the main tile for each camp looks like , so in short yes you can mod out caves and make it looks like any other space on the map. You can even edit the map tiles to look like lava, snow, or whatever you want.

As far as more loot and fame that easy , if you check out the code in the SAV file. There are famereward and xp spot for every mob. Alot of times you can just add a 1 in front of the numbers and its a safe amount to add to the fame amount or xp without super cheating the game.

I managed to mod in new items today with new looks and stats so maybe eventually I will release these if there is interest. Lots more possibilities for dungeon siege 2 and diable/fate type loot drops sets ;)

I have tried both the mob and raid mods and it hangs on the generating characters bit for a long time (10+ min) I have a dual core Amd 5600+ and 2gb of ram so I figure it's stuck.

Do I need to wait that much longer?

Also, you mentioned all of the different types of tiles

lava, snow, ect.

I would definitely like to have a list of a tile set in a text format or something pointing me into the right direction. :)

I am so wanting to make caves and mines and crypts.

If it's as easy to mod as I think this is, it's awesome.

Also. I tried to add more leaders to the mobs from each area by increasing the number.

Maybe that has something to do with generation time as well. I figure they would be just like an other mob. I'll restart my game as let it load for a good hour before I assume it's crashed.

Last time I checked my cpu % in the task man. it said zero so that was my assumption.

Im using a duo core with 4 gigs ram but still the build of the map should always be under 1 minute. Try removing the leader changes you made and just putting 15-20 mobs in each camp. On any machine over 1Gig ram it should be 3 minutes or less build time/loadout.

As far as tiles , they are all easily modded in adobe fireworks (as they are .PNGS) or use your application of choice. Ive reskinned about 20 things in the game from mobs to characters to tiles. Even the camps and trees can be changed to anything you can create or imagine.

Post some of your screenies maybe you will inspire others to get more from Hinterland.

I changed the raid mod to "2.5"

BAD IDEA!!!

My entire village was killed in under 2 minutes from a group of level 32 Gnolls.

I was level 12 at the time.

Yikes.

hehe

But, very cool. I'll try lowering the number.

Obviously it's something to do with your level * Raidmod but I imagine fame has a bit to do with it as well.

It loaded very quickly when all I did was change the Raidmod.

I guess I was trying to do a bit to much last time. :)

Cool..but can i change the number of raiders, instead of the level of raiders?

that would be cool, would help leveling. gold, etc

is that possible?

SpawnNumberRange = "5 7";

Change the numbers in your save file to 1 1 and you will get 1 mob at that camp

Change it to 1 9 and you will have from 1 thru 9 mobs based on a random roll.

12 25 etc... 12 - 25 mobs will be at THAT one camp. you can change these on every single camp and thats why loading into maps sometimes takes a while , since your entire , loot, mobs and everything is mostly randomly rolled and preset all into your save game/map loadout.

happy Hintering

Difficulty is the one thing I look for in games, which usually directly relates to replayability. Without a demo, I was worried as heck that I would play through once, say meh, it ain't that tough, and never play again.

However, once I read this post, I must say, guru, if Tilted Mill isn't paying you, they darn well better start. (cheers) You just sold a game ; P
