What are Specialization Points and how do I get them?

You get one at the start, one at palace level 4, the next at palace level 8 (or so I heard).

When you click on the palace, you can add these points to one of your products, so that production will be oosted (well, it adds 2% each point...).

Choose wisely, because resetting is really overpriced ;)

Does anyone specialize in anything but their unique resource? I spent my 2 points on my res but after upgrading to lvl 5 palace, I'm leaning towards either both bricks or 1 brick 1 bread.

Click on your palace and notice small oval shaped (RED) box in upper right corner. You may change your mind and leave it.

Its only 2% per point, not really worth worrying about IMO.

I specialized in wheat, so that I can competitively produce bread for myself, and not have to worry about selling off my more valuable goods.

Click on palace and note green boxes with a + .

Clicking on one of the boxes will assign your specialization points to that resource or shop.

Give this a lot of thought, because it cost you dearly to change it. (Second pic) The price goes up with each upgrade.

Level 4 will give you 4% and I think level 8 will be 2% more.

Edit #2:
Add the miniscule specilization points to a 10% blessing from your god (temple donation) and this can mean a good increase in production.

What do the points actually do? For primary products I can understand it increases production speed, and that is all there is to it, but for secondary product, does it (also) increase output in terms of basic resources needed, or do I still need the same amount of those?

I guess the same question applies to the blessing by the gods.

It increases output so materials are used up faster too. That's what I think anyway.

In other threads, it has been stated that palace L7 gives a new spec point (suggesting it's every 3 levels, so 10, 13, 16 etc.). Also, it was confirmed that production bonuses from specialization or temple blessings increase production RATE but not EFFICIENCY, so raw materials are used faster to increase output, keeping the materials per finished product the same. Still a useful bonus, given that it's permanent and constant.

Also, specialization and temple blessings multiply, so (for example) a 10% blessing and a 4% spec bonus give not 14% but (1.10*1.04)= 1.144 or 14.4%. Though the difference is tiny, over time it might be noticeable.

Although my resource is Bronze I specialized in wheat right off the bat. With bread being the currency AND the source of food for my workers I figured I would need it. It's paying off quite well.

My second point went into Bronze.

I have brick as specialization and also clay and reed are boosted.

I spent my points as fast as I got them. First on wheat & second on bricks.

Wise? Not a clue. Hopeful! :D
