If you're currently in game, please be sure to hit reload.

Misc small bugs/tweaks, a big market addition (buy orders) and market UI rework with this update.

I would be surprised if the market doesn't have a bug or two... please play close attention to ensure things are working as expected! ;)

Also, credits added for the wonderful TMill Insiders who helped test the alpha!

Whoa, awesome. One suggestion, can you have the marketplace stay on buyers when I change resources rather than reverting to sellers. I liked flipping through all of the resources and figured it'd be a good way to gauge demand.

Its a different interface... And I miss the little upgrade window that has been replaced by an ugly green bar. I want the dude with the hammer back!

I like. But yes there be bugs.

The moment somebody (anybody) put out a buying order for a good no-one else can request.

I,e. Can place request for reeds (no-one has on my market, so far), but if I try to request jewlery - "You already have a buy order for jewelry. Please delist that before placing a new order." The only buying offer is by someone else. [Edit: Jewlery request from other person is gone. Still true though, replace Jewlery with Bronze.]

--------------------

Also, green upgrade bar appears despite me already upgrading elsewhere. I'd prefer if it'd state that builders are busy, straight away, not after clicking.

I, for some reason can not figure out how to sell an item. As well I have two stacks of leather on the market, but it's not showing up in the sellers market...is this planned (that a seller can not see his own goods) or is it a bug?

use your slider at bottom of page to move page to the right.then you should be able to see items for sale

As for the bug.. It seems to work now.

I too, am having the same problem as Mnemon, and hitting refresh in buyers list will switch to sellers.
I don't know if anyone else has buy orders, but I can see them if there are. I guess there is supposed to be a "Sell to ____" button. This will help me a lot when it's working. :)
Debug Info [u:1468 array ( 24630 => 'Theops', )]

EDIT: I can now see the buy orders of other players. But the refresh still doesn't work.

Reed -- The letters are HUGE.. we're not geriatrics, you know! Some of the letters are tiny, and some are huge. Not a great improvement.

You mean we're not mummies :D

Anyway, very practical update. It will help a lot.

I don't think it's very practical. I have to scroll every time I want to sell something because all the important buttons are on the right side. (800x600)

The game isn't intended to support that resolution. I'm surprised there aren't more issues than that...

I had that error too when clicking the palace, but then it went away.

I noticed that, but it wasn't serious until now. If you could just reconfigure the market buttons more to the left and get rid of some of those tiny letters (hmm, like it was before!!!) it would be so much better.

I was getting that in IE 7, so I downloaded Firefox, and it looks fine in that.

I'm using Firefox...

Anyway, here are another (EDIT) three problems/issues I noticed:

* You can't place more than one buy order for any item, anywhere. (not even in a different market)

* What if you want to let people sell to you in smaller lots, not all at the same time? You can't specify more than one lot in the "buyers" section, nor I don't think you can fulfill a partial request.

A lot of the links are now grey instead of white (or the color they used to be?) It makes for much harder navigation of the log to find a shipment that you or someone else supposedly made.

First off, WOOT.

I'm sure i'm not the first person that asked for that function in the marketplace, but still.. I mean, that was something I was asking for... logged in.. went to upgrade my Marketplace (cause i've upgraded everything else in my City to Level 4, really. i'm getting ready to work on my 2nd city too!) and sorta gawked.

I feel kinda bad cause while playing with it.. i made 750 bread selling 25 of my cosmetics.... and then noticed I had a new message from someone in a nearby nome... asking to trade for cosmetics. >.> Guess i need Henna now. lol.

Second, Big Thumbs up for the market changes. :p I like the slickness of it. Looks great in FF3. I agree that while upgrading it should say "Upgrading" or "Currently Working" rather than telling me I can keep upgrading it. :p

Using Firefox 3.03 on a 1024/768 resolution the drop down box for the market good is far to large and unless I position the scroll bar exactly right disappears some of the goods ala..

28624

So I frequently need several clicks/scrolls/clicks to be able to see baskets and bricks properly it only happens when FF tries to expand the drop down box upwards as in the screen shot although it's pretty close to having the same issue when FF expands the drop down box downwards, Wheat almost gets lost at the bottom.

Does it work if you un-maximise the window? Or is your font size set to larger than normal?

Nope and nope :)

The drop down bar text appears to be in 12pt, the rest of the text on the page is a combination of 10 or 8 point (measured by eye and may bear no relation to the actual font sizes used by TM :) )

Well that sucks. I guess that Firefox can't display the whole drop-down either upwards or downwards without some of it going off-screen as your vertical resolution is too low, but I'm not a Firefox expert :) Guess you're going to have to lower your font size or hope the devs make a font-size change-a-majig :)

Deguar
11-11-2008, 05:24 AM
And this is what happens in IE 7 which no matter how hard I tried I couldn't persuade it to crop baskets or bricks out of the list when the drop down menu was rendered upward. Didn't see a way of adding a screen shot to my other post though :(

28625

As you can see in IE the fonts for the drop down menu are about 2 points smaller so it all fits, not that I am the least bit surprised that FF and IE render the same code differently :) And obviously I haven't been using IE owing to the "can only read scrolls if I hit reply" issue.

So for a cleaner market interface I can use IE, for everything else I can use FF. Wow Reed is going to hate me if I tell him that instead of multi tabbing I started multi browsers :)

Hehe

Deguar, I'm going to do some font work shortly that should fix your issue, and hopefully also Amaterasu's (though I'm really not sure how those fonts are so oversized).

Thanks for the reports and feedback, all!

I must be very lucky this time. I have IE7 & my Market screen is wonderful! :)

I'm on a 1440x900 widescreen & perhaps that is the difference. My dropdowns drop down.

Actually, the font size on the list of goods in the market is larger than the pre v.28 builds, but I find it easier on the eyes. Not everyone is a kid.

While the font size is larger as pointed out above, I don't have whatever problem is going on with his list as it appear in his image. Everything at the market looks just perfect on my screen in MSIE 7.0 now that Reed fixed the "too wide" problem.

I just want to say that I love the new marketplace feature of entering a buy order. I'm viewing it full-screen at 1280x1024 and have no problems with missing information, nor do I have to scroll, ever.

My only gripes have been listed previously: the large font and the upgrade button showing up when you can't actually upgrade right now.

Do you have the same issue with other browsers?

I'm not sure how this is occurring via Firefox... so I wonder if it's an OS setting?

I'm using FF 2.0.0.0.17 with Vista on my laptop. and FF 3-something on XP Pro on my desktop. No problems. Let me know if I can test something for you, Reed.
