There seems to be something in the code of the page that MSIE objects to. The city page loads fine and works in a seemingly normal manner yet MSIE 7.0 displays "Error on page" in the lower left corner of the browser window status bar.

I, too, have encountered such an error but mine is on the screen for managing sell offers. See attached.

Again I must ask, WHY are you using the hideous bloatware that is IE?

You know, I've seen you post this inane comment several times already. It's our choice to use MSIE, so deal with it, will ya, and take your vendetta against MS elsewhere. Your comment doesn't really add anything helpful to this thread.

Wow. In fact it does add something helpful - many people have found they do not have these errors when using something besides IE so why don't you take YOUR attitude elsewhere. At least I'm trying to help.

Even aside from this game, most IT people and those in the know avoid IE. It is the target of most hacks, it is bulkier than other programs and far slower than Firefox and Chrome (70% slower java than Chrome!!).

Why don't you people who are having this issue at least try to replicate it in another browser so that Reed has something to go on?

Cheers.

I think the main page recommends against IE7, preferring IE8 instead. I use IE7 at home and get funky results. But since I am not using the recommended browser I do not complain.

At work and on the road I use Firefox on my laptop and the game runs fine in it.

Yes, yes, we've all seen and heard the usual Firefox/Chrome arguments before. If we had wanted to use them, we would be already.

Well just don't come crying here when your precious IE doesn't work despite the game warning you about that before you even start.

Sheesh.

This is a beta test. We are supposed to report problems.

No, you were not trying to help. You were posting flamebait. Furthermore, this is our thread, so don't you be telling us to go elsewhere. Keith's response was the same as mine. I just did not post it. Now I will.

Do you want to know who I am? I am a grouchy old woman whose first (homebuilt) PC ran CP/M, who can program JCL punch cards for an IBM 360, and who used to be able to read punch tape but has forgotten how. My first computer language was Fortran. I can also write object-oriented code in C++, but for the most part I don't see any reason to do so since most of my projects don't gain anything from object-orientation. The point is that I have not stayed in the past. In between Then and Now I learned almost every computer language available to me, and I have at least dabbled in every OS I have had the chance to play with. I'm certified as a network engineer by Novell, and I have a PhD in Physical and Organic Chemistry.

I have my reasons for not adding Yet Another layer of complexity onto an already overburdened system, and since the game is advertised to run in IE (albeit not 7), I have a right to post feedback during the beta test. So get out of my face with taunts about how this or that browser is used by people who think they are smarter than me.
