I'm thinking 2 months into the game.. a lot of people will get tired of even logging in to trade once a day, but how are they going to get their input resources if they have eg a gold and emerald city? For that, I suggest standing market offers: the idea is that a player places a buy or sell order on a good for X items per day at Y price.
If the order isn't fully filled, then the player could specify that the overflow of needed resources should go for next day's demand. The player should also be able to specify how much of an absolute overfill there could be (eg: 50 emeralds / day ordered @ 6 each, but the player gets 100 offered by sellers.. he specifies an overfill beforehand of 30 emeralds, so the player buys only 80 emeralds, and his market demand for tomorrow is set to 20)
