View Full Version : Server problems?

The game seems "stuck" at the moment. Not refreshing, not even letting one logout without closing the tab and going back in and then it gets stuck again when trying to do anything.

Cheers.

It seems to have cleared up now.

Don't know whether it's a server problem, but the message scroll window is very slow in responding. Other screens showdelays at times, but this is really bad. Could it be related to the amount of scrolls I keep, and would deleting the older ones help?

Bad?

I'm on dialup & the response is excellent! Sure it slows every once in awhile.

<Kudos to TM !!!>

:)

EDIT: Joshofet, I delete all my incoming after responding to them. I also delete my chat scrolls in my sent listing. Trade outgoing in sent, I save. It takes a few extra seconds to open the sent screen, but that is no biggie. Part of how I handle this, is due to the IE7 bug (in addition to hopefully helping response time). However, I believe that fixing that is definitely NOT on Reed's ToDo list, cuz we have workarounds & he is one busy little beaver elsewhere on the important stuff.

You should delete old ones, definitely. Although will soon probably have the server start auto-deleting them for you anyway, like it does for the logs.

Fixing the IE bug with scrolls is on the list, but yeah, it may be a while.

First, I'm seeing a problem again. I just tried to look at my logs and got the endless scrolling blocks and then could not change to any other screen. I closed the tab altogether but then could not bring the login page back up.

As for the auto deleting of scrolls, please do NOT start doing that until you give us a way to track friends / partners, etc. I keep my logs right now so that I know who I'm trading with, what still needs to go where, etc. I simply keep the last one in the thread so that I may scroll through it for the history.

Cheers.

Edit - In case you missed my previous posts, I avoid IE at all costs. I'm using Chrome mostly for this game, sometimes Firefox.

It just happened to me too. Firefox is telling me that:

The server at www.playnileonline.com is taking too long to respond.

Confirmed . the ip address is dead. nothing network issue at the provider so its hardware/ipconfig related.

Thanks for the further info, Guru.

I do hope TM's laborers have enough bread to go around, and enough bricks to upgrade the server to the next level. With all these new pharaohs coming in the past days....

It got me in the middle of my first attempt at playing. I almost had my pottery guys going. A-noying. Tried to get back a few minutes later ('prox 8:45 PM my time) and got that 'server reset while loading page' message from my browser (FF) twice. Nonetheless, I am NOT deterred; I SHALL be back to finish this.
