View Full Version : Trading/Not Trading Flag

It would be nice if you could set some sort of icon/flag to indicate whether or not you are interested in direct trades. This could show up much the same way as the active/inactive icon on the nome view, and also some inconspicuous spot when writing a scroll to that player. A lot of players, myself included, are temporarily or permanently not interested in direct trading, and I'm sick of getting trade requests, and either having to write out a refusal, or feeling rude because I can't be bothered to do so. Also, if I become interested in direct trading some time in the future, at the moment my local players will just assume I'm not interested because I sent a refusal. This way, when they look at the nome view to see who to send a scroll to, they will see immediately that I've since changed my mind.
It should probably default to trading on, so new players aren't left out because of some setting they weren't aware of.

Good idea. I've not yet reached a time where I'm not interested but I can see it could happen.
Cheers.

That could also give an idea of the reliability of the Pharao.

I copy & paste this message when I send items to players for the first couple of times that way they know the items have been sent. I type in the word of the product where the picture is.
Example ŧ [7:56 am] Shipment of 200 (clay) from Palm City enroute to Lake Okeechobee! (8:14 am arrival)

Sounds like a nice idea to me. Should cut down on the need for scroll-spamming to get responses that some people report.

Sounds like a very misanthropic idea to me.

How that? If I send you 100 perfume for 200 kohl, you send out 2 ships and I send you one. Itīs a perfectly honest deal, but my display will say I have sent out one ship less than I received.
How should someone judge me on this, as long as he doesnīt know what exact deals I made?

True, but if you see a person with lot of traffic, it is very likely he can be a good partner, sure you could fake it too, but it would take a lot of work.

How about ebay-like ratings? let me tell the marketplace about particularly good or bad partners (yes, I've had a few). [and even some within the game :o]. That way I can weigh the relative risk...
This would need some way to balance, as there is potential for abuse (like maybe only one rating per trade?) There should be some sort of removal algorithm as well, so that only the (n) newest trades are rated (n=50?)
thoughts?
