They really do. It makes no sense whatsoever to have an infinite number of "Pharaohs" given that the Pharaoh was the ultimate power.

Perhaps you could come up with something that works better and you could also tie in THE Pharaoh who could perhaps give out random requests / quests and / or random assistance when gifts are bestowed upon him?

Hmm... Maybe have Pharaoh be an unique and earned title? Like, the #1 on the world rank would get to be titled Pharaoh...

Yes but I don't think there was 200+ pharaohs. ;)
Rulers over nomes were called "nomarchs".

Still too many. At most there probably could have been two Pharaohs, not the 2449 we have at the moment.

a lot of this game is not historically correct, I suspect it took longer then a day to go form each end of the Nile and to go only 100 Km down:rolleyes:. Also the Pharaohs as a title makes it both easier for scrolls, (I'm lasy;)) and It is a good advertising point, I reckon more people would look at this game to be a Pharaoh and they would less likely if they don't recognise who a Nomarch was. personally I'm against it.

If we were to be totally accurate, only one out of 20 in each nome could be nomarch. The rest might be city mayors, or village chieftains, or something similar.

I like the idea, would make rank more interesting. Say, top .1% could be "Pharoah", top 5% could be "Nomarch", everyone else "Peon". Something along those lines anyway :D
