I am new to Steam. New to game not showing up on my computer but rather within the Steam application. However, after purchase and dowload when game shows in Steam and I try to launch it tells me:

application requires durectx 9.0c of higher press to unstall
failed to launch directx 9.0c setup
minimum directx version not found quitting

I run lots of games on my year old Dell XP M1210 - my idrectx is fine and current.

I guess I should have waited on this game but it looked good....

How do I get it to run?

Please post your question in the tech forum.

When you look in the tech forum you will see discussions on how to post a DXDIAG file which will help us point to where your problem will be. Most likely, it is a video driver update issue.

Hope this helps,
jeff

Hi Jeff,

I don't think our newest member to the forum, michaelincolorado, had no choice, but to post in this thread. The "Community Technical Support" forum thread, wasn't created until AFTER his posting :o :o :o

Since the "Community Technical Support" is empty, here's how to post your DXDIAG file, to that forum.

Press Start > Run and type in DXDIAG. A window will appear with your Diagnostics. Press the "Save all information" button down the bottom and it will save as DxDiag.txt

Make sure you're logged in and then go to the Community Technical Support forum, say what's causing your grief and then go to "Additional Options" and press the "Manage Attachments" button. Another window will open and press the first "browse" button just under "Upload File from your Computer." Upload your file, preview your post and press "Submit Reply." This will help the TM team, see if there is anything that needs fixing, etc.

Hope this helps. BTW, I hope I didn't open fire at Fort Sumter, with this post, did I?

Hi Jeff,

I stand corrected. We both made a posting on two separate threads, about tech support, within two minutes of each other! You posted first. LOL ;)
