Thought folk here might like to Bookmark this site, or at least, look at the news here. ;)

http://www.guardians.net/hawass/ Dr. Zahi Hawass' personal pages. He is Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Director of the Giza Pyramids Excavation.

And an interesting new article on Pyramid Builders by Dr. Zahi Hawass

It was!

I really enjoyed the site. I ended up (as you do) wandering around the web and looking at local Egyptology and archaeology courses in my area. There are tons of digs and excavations you can help out on, even if it's doing the cleaning!

I think I'll have to speak to my Mum. She recently did a local course, which she loved. Got to go to Lord Carnarvon's house and suchlike. I feel another visit to the British Museum is in order!

My archeologist friend Ruth did her course at Brighton. She got the short stick one year and had to do a dig in Sussex on dead Celtic baby burials.. she is still the leading light in that field after a summer spoent in a muddy rain soaked trench!
She has 2 kitchen sinks and told me the best way to clean all the mud and grot off the buried babies was to .. soak them in Ariel laundry washing powder. So, often when friends came round they would peer into one of her sinks and say, "Oh, that looks interesting! What is it?" They weren't too happy with the answer, though! ;)
