I have had 1 specialization point for a long time now. I'm not sure which one would be the best to put it on. I already have one on baskets. Please help.

Put it on your special resource, reeds, clay, or wheat.

So I should put it on a resource not a finished product?

Specialization points are not a great priority right now, since the bonus is so small and limited. Consider this: it boosts productivity for all the workers in that city making whatever single item you choose. Where are the most workers deployed? For many cities the answer is wheat, and many many spec points have been spent on wheat. If your city is making a single luxury good, and selling it to buy bread, you may do better to choose your luxury good or special raw material. For now though, there isn't much concern over 'bad' choices, since it doesn't make or break a city either way.

Almost all of us have chosen to specialize in a raw material, since specializing in a finished good (luxury goods, baskets or pottery) increases the RATE of production not the EFFICIENCY, so you use more raw materials to make more finished goods. The resulting savings is small, compared to the increased output from specializing in raw materials.

In my first city I have placed all points on emeralds. In second city I placed half on sculptures & half on bronze.

Both seem to do well especially with temple bonus added in.

I think it depends on your priorities. Just remember, it's costly to change.
