I was playing hinterland fine up until quite recently, now it simply won't load anymore.
Oddly enough, hitting "start game" doesn't actually do anything unless I move the game screen or resize it. After I do that,
the game stops at "creating world". It loads up the bar to that point, and then stops.
Stops entirely, it stops trying to read from my harddrive, according to process explorer it stops using CPU. I can't do anything except exit the game.
I have the game on STEAM and i've already tried deleting local content and redownloading it, it stops at the exact same point.
I'm running an adequate system, with all the updated drivers from TODAY. Athlon X2 4600+, 2 gigs of ram, 8800GT(512mb). DirectX is the latest, videocard drivers are the GTA IV set that just came out (180.74?) I went through the incredibly annoying process of getting my Soundblaster Audigy 2 drivers off of their website.
I've tried changing resolutions and it doesn't help. Switching monitors does nothing (The game could use widescreen resolutions btw). Changing programs in the background is also useless.
Any ideas? I saw that you were requesting a DXdiag in other parts of the thread, so here's mine.
