Forum Avatars added

We have enabled forum avatars. If you'd like one shown next to your name, simply go your control panel (via the User CP link) and then go to the Edit Avatar page. From there you'll be able to select from various CotN-related avatars.

We'll be adding additional ones as time goes on... And also feel free to make requests for any CotN related graphics/items that you'd like to see made available as an avatar.

Similar to the ankh and the eye of ra you might want to consider the winged scarab beetle seen on some of the screen shots above the control panel of the game.

Thanks! I still yearn for the symbol of a God or Pharaoh (God-House) which I believe shows the population limit in the screenshots.

It also used to display empty housing lots in the original Pharaoh.

Actually, I have a suggestion that's only remotely related to this topic: Would it be possible to add an option for an alternate layout so that the member name/info and the avatar are placed to the left of a message? It would look something like this:

Actually I like that layout better, too, so if you, folks take requests for such things, then let me second it. Reason is, the way the layout is now, it really breaks up the flow of reading, for me at least. With Cironir's more classic layout example, it is just nicer to read. :)

I cancel out the above two and second Cironir. It is much more common but more practical to have it that way, although I know how annoying XMB gets. :mad:

Oh, and for a request, is it possible to upload the sort of symbol used somewhere in the CotN UI, which also represented the housing symbol in Pharaoh? Pretty please? :)

I have a proposition that anyone who cannot name the names of every lead developer at Tilted Mill within 5 minutes of asking should be hung, drawn, and quartered...or sacrificed, depending how the Nilometre's going. Or being fed to the crocodiles since so many people are obsessed with them.

They remind me of overseer icons, but they can't be. I am not sure they will even be in the game. I chose that exact one earlier but changed it because this was more...neutral. ;)

Hi all. I'm brand new as of today, here. I am very much looking forward to TM's first release and hope to be a worthy addition to this community. Anyway...

While getting an avatar I saw posted in that section this, "Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it."

I actually have an avatar that I use in most every forum I visit. It's quite Egyptian and family friendly. Sorry to display my net tech ignorance, but is it possible for me to use that avi here on the TM forums?

I guess that's part of the defaults for this brand of board. Whether the owner (in this case TM) enables them is a different kettle of fish.

Maybe some animal avatars as well. Someone asked for a cat.. There could also be crocs or hippos.
Also, letters of the Egyptian alphabet, so we could put the corresponding glyph for our nickname's initial.
