Just out of curiosity, are any of you awaiting the new Farscape mini series as much as I am? It's one of the only shows I watch, and I am really excited for the "Peacekeeper Wars" mini series to come out. hopefully it will get enough response to bring back the series. Just wondering if any of you are fans as well.

I used to watch the series religiously. I know nothing about a mini-series :o
When is it coming out? Where? Will it have all of the original characters?
I actually never saw all of the last episodes because the cable channel that runs it here kept pre-empting programs, switching times, etc :(

I really enjoyed that program when I used to watch it when I lived in Japan - it was one of the very few things I could get in English at the time. But it wasn't very reliably broadcast, so it was hard to really get into, no continuity and all that. I don't think it's been broadcast for a while here in Australia, but if anyone knows differently, let me know.

Sci-Fi's been running a lot of promos lately. I think tomorrow morning they're running a big series marathon starting at 7am Central with the Pilot and working their way through in order.

Set your DVR's :D

There will be a Farscape miniseries with all the same characters beginning October 17th on Sci Fi. They are re-airing the entire series in order, all 4 seasons October 1-15th 8 am to 4 pm (Madly erasing everything off the Tivo in anticipation) I am way excited! i hated the way the series ended. Here is the site for loads of Farscape stuff http://www.scifi.com/farscape/ :D

I really despise Farscape, along with Stargate and Andromeda. All of the space shows the Sci-Fi channel runs nowadays look like they were written by an ape. On second thought, an ape could write a masterpiece in comparison to that garbage. It's all so darn cliche.

While recognising that we are all entitled to both have and post our own opinions, I just wondered why you felt the need to place such a negative post in what was otherwise a positive series of responses? Two things my mother used to say come to mind: "If you don't like it, don't watch it", and "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". Let those who enjoy it and are looking forward to it have their happy little thread supporting the each other. Or if you have something constructive to say, such as suggesting an alternative, please do so.

Well ... maybe it has something to do with the inner dingo (or something like that). ;)

While Sci-fi is not my favourite genre, I certainly know that many people do indeed enjoy it. Therefore I hope that all sci-fi fans will heartily enjoy this series. :D

Nah, dingoes don't make much sound - they can't actually bark! Watch their bite, though.

Imho: They would actually make great watch dogs --- they won't annoy neighbours with their incessant barking (we have lots of compulsive barkers in our neighbourhood :( ) but heaven help any intruder. ;)

P.S. Sorry for the highjack!! :o

I must admit when Farscape started i didn't like it all that much as it appeared a bit too puppety, but after the initial first series I got hooked on it. The same was for Sliders, whowever when they introduced the cromags the program got interesting especially when their favourite delecasy was human eyes.

Now I'm looking forward to the new battlestar galactica and Stargate Atlantis, not forgetting the New Dr. Who...as long as the Daleks are in it (the only reason I watched it.

Has anyone seen Alien Vs Predator yet?. I hear they've cut out most of if not all the gory bits but are re introducing them to the DVD when it's released.

Okay, Hollywood has gone bonkers. What focus group were they responding to by cutting out the goopy bits? WHO would go to see Alien vs. Predator and not expect a lot of messy death? Please tell me they weren't toning it down for a rating of PG-13 or something dumb.

And is this a post-release change, or pre-release?

I just got hooked on Farscape the other day. I'd seen it once before and thought it too puppety. Not anymore.

(Big Stargate fan. ;))

One of my mates is heavily in to sci-fi horror and he saw this reported on the web site as quoted by the director. Seemingly they toned down the release so that it would be open to all...I think it had something to do with the video game.

Sci-Fi is generally a good medium to write in, I would have thought. Anything that occurs to your mind is possible, and somethings that don't.
I think the graphics on television are very good - people look like people, whereas on the computer they have not quite reached that acme of perfection. Their buildings are good as well, and also their explosive thingies but, to me, they are not quite believable - unlike a computer game - and the viewer has no choice about where the story line goes next - so they are acceptable even to me.
I love Stargate but, then, the actors are far better than I thought they were and they can actually act - which is good. I remember going to acting classes. We had to whisper (not strangulating ourselves to get the words out) and make the whisper heard over the other side of the hall. That is quite an art.

Those guys (and Amanda Tapping;)) are great, great, actors. They could carry a whole series with cardboard spaceships. ;) Well...almost. Heh.

I'm feeling jealous now :(
I wish the whole series was being shown here. I wish I had a Tivo (I'd never heard of one until this thread :)) and I wish I could move to the US for a while, just a little while, for two reasons: Farscape and competition entries!
