crash to desktop

Hi, I'm using the latest (as of today) version on steam. A new guard became available, I built him a house and almost instantly the message popped up saying "Remove Item? [yes] [no]" (I'm assuming this was due to the left (town) portion of my inventory being full and I have auto use on for followers). When I clicked "[yes]" I was instantly back at the desktop :(

This is just to let you know about it. I love the game and hope you patch this.
