Something strange happened
I opened the market and bought lots of stuff from a player was going for immortality , and this what I found out later.
Anyway after buying many thing from that player , some of them arrived to my cities and the rest did not arrive due to his immortality state.
Now , do I have the right to complain to the moderators so I can get a refund or get the goods I bought ???
I want to confirm , that the transaction was not a private trade but it was through the market.
Please I want the goods as I depend on them to upgrade my cities !!!!
Thanks and best regards

That is interesting news, I thought that once they went on the market, they weren't part of your inventory, so that if you deleted(or went imortal) they wouldn't be lost.

Unfortunately , the goods are still part of your inventory till it arrives !!!!
I think the game developers should reconsider this state as I think it is not fair .
The player gets his bread or price straight away and you the buyer wait for the time it takes to arrive.
Thanks for your post.

Your point is true. Which do you think should change, should he have to wait for the bread, of should you get the goods right away? And how would this work with buy orders?

When I went immortality I picked a moment when noone had bought goods off me in the market for several hours, I still had a bunch of stuff listed there but they were at reasonable not dump prices.
It might work if immorality could be triggered, but not completed as long as there are goods in transit. Of course that then means that for those up to maybe 6 hours through the market..since ships are supposed to return if their destination goes "poof" . Thus the person who went immortality wouldn't be able to restart until their shipments arrived and their cities couldn't immediately be bulldozed into oblivion.
Possibly a new "pending deletion" state could be introduced whereby there could be, for example an hour's delay, before the final oblivion. A routine then checks for any active market shipments outoing from the soon to be deleted cities and either turbo charges them so they arrive instantly or tries to refund the bread spent.

More interesting than the goods you bought is the amount of bread you paid for it. :D
But I agree, you should at least get your money back.

To be fair, if you bought those from me [which I suspect you did, going by the numbers], the price was only 0.1, so you didn't lose that much. You should of checked the buy orders, I put up millions of bread worth, but noone saw them. But yea, I had this when Latros left, I had about 10 pages of stuff from him, and on the last page most of the stuff never arrived.

Sounds like a bug to me. You should either get the stuff or get the bread back (preferably the former).
Note to self - careful to clear market transactions when ready to swig the hemlock

I think when you buy something from the market , it should arrive straight away just like normal markets.
When you go to Tesco for instance , you pick up what want then pay for it and off you go it's all yours.
They got the price of their goods and you got what you paid for.
Thanks

Thanks mate for your post.

:D I did not pay that much for the goods
I am trying to make a point which is :
When you buy goods off someone on the market , you should get your goods even if you only paid 0.1 per item.
Thanks

Nop , It is not you mate , I am 219N and the player I bought the stuff off called ****
The concept is , I bought stuff, paid the requested amount of bread to complete the transaction but I did not get what I paid for .
I am not complaining about the player him self because the goods were very cheap. and I THANK him for the good feelings.
I am complaining about a bug in the game
What If I bought stuff for real prices
and then the player decided to destroy his city or to go for immortality .??
I would lose my bread for good , which is not fair to me as a buyer .
As I said earlier , I think when I buy something off the market I should get my goods as soon as I pay for it , OR at least the goods should be preserved for me somewhere safe till it arrives.
Thanks

Absolutely right , It is a bug in the game !!! :( as I believe .

I think that a market in this game is not like a store, but more a trading place. It doesn't have shelves lined with goods. I know that I often have to consider travel time when deciding which lot to buy. I might have to pay more for something fro it to be closer to me, so I might by a lot of 50 @ 10per that will keep me stocked untill the lot of 500 @ 4per arrives. And I think that this is an important feature, so I am not sure about instant delivery. But if a seller has gone out of bussiness, and I have paid the agreed upon price, I should get the goods.

In general I agree, however if you buy stuff at a price that is clearly way below the actual value, you shouldn't be surprised there is something fishy with the business. Not fair indeed, but not unrealistic.
It seems to have become something of a tradition for players leaving the game to give away their fortune to others. A few smaller gifts to your all time allies won't harm, but pumping millions of bread in an already stagnating economy won't do the market much good.

I'd suggest posting this in the bug forums for Reed to see.
In both cases, Immortality or deletion, if you have paid for goods, either you should be getting the goods or getting a refund.

Anything that helps to stop the exiting the game "gifting" cheat & fine with me!
Yup yup yup
We all know that using the market this way is just a means to avoid using boats.
Love it!
Buyer beware!
