Is there any way to get rid of this message? Even if I have 3 barge landings and only one place that deliver cargo I get the damn message.
If I have several barge landings and several places that deliver cargo they all clump up on the same one, that is closest to the drop of point and ignore the other barges and then complain I got to few barges.
One one scenario I was importing both normal and fine limestone and everything went fine for 2 years. I started to import some other stuff too and added another barge, wich noone used. Then after 2 years both barges seemed to get inactive and I lost shipsment telling me I got to few barges. (this is when I closed all exept one site to see if it would improve the situation, it did not and I still lost it). Finally I build a third barge on the other side of the map, and now I can accept cargo again? What up with that? I was useing atleast one of the barges for 2 years before it messed up.
But mainly they ALWAYS complain like 5 times a year about the damn barges, even when I don't loose anything. So how do I get them to shut up? They clutter up my messages for no good reason.

is rare, it usually behaves well, but test
separate a little barge landings, maybe 2 to 4 tiles in between and also that is over the nile, or maybe is under a flood, when you build a bargelanding, try to avoid the yellow squars that tends to be under water, but not sure is this affect to this kind of building.
EDITED** Sorry ! for the spanish!

es raro, generalmente esto se porta bien, pero prueba

Ok I have no ide what the first 1,5 sentence said. I get like 2 of the words of it only. And it makes the rest of the sentence rather unclair. Coudl you please try again with the whole post in english?

Hi Flammehav!
I think what he was trying to say (I don't speak spanish either...) was that your barge landings may be blocked due to being too close together or not reaching in deep enough water.
You should also know that the messages are a relic of the beta version of the game, where every importing city needed its own landing (or so I heard). You don't need that much in the game now. You shouldn't lose any wares at all if you have 3 landings and 4 importing sites, although you get those annoying messages. If you really hava lost wares (check your numbers), than anything else went wrong, that isn't connected to your landing number.

The original COTN required one landing for each World Map water site. TM patched it to one landing for every three WM water sites, but did not fix the message. You can ignore it most of the time. When I place landings, I place three north & three south of my city. Shipwright first & closest, cuz that one needs food, goods & services (barely, cuz TM cheated that building to be special & not get upset ;)).
Building landings on the other side of the Nile makes no difference unless you also place dedicated DOPs there to the WM sites. It is best to put the ones that do not include limestone, basalt & granite on the non-city side of the Nile if you run outta landing space on your city side. This way, your people can still get the stuff w/o barges by building reed boats.
Yes, definitely leave at least 1-2 tiles between each pier & this includes shipwrights, landings & Quays
Flammehav, it would also help if you used the correct titles when you post to avoid confusion.
Landing = Barge Landing = dock or pier we build outta bricks
Barge = boats built by your shipwright outta imported cedar wood used for transporting stone across the Nile.
The game doesn't handle barging limestone across the nile very well, so be careful where you put limestone DOPs & always dedicate them so they are delivered to the correct side of the Nile ~ the side where you will be building your pyramids. This is especially so when you will be building the larger size pyramids.

I had loads of room between my barge landing and didn't add anything extra so I have no ide why one worked at first and then stopped. Normally it seems like they choose the landing that is closest to where they're going to deliver their crago though.
Atleast on another scenario they changed the barge landeing for delivering stones when I added a new and closer one, while the other goods kept useing the old one as their drop of points was still closer to that one. they still kept ignoring my third barge landing though as none of the drop of points was closest to that one.
I got the explanation to why the message keep popping up all the time, but is the a way I can stop it from doing that?

To get rid of the messages, just add more landings. They are cheap to build! There is only one Campaign scenario, IIRC, where we cannot possibly build enough landings to make the message go away.
WM Cargo ships DO tend to use the closest landing to the DOP that they decided to use & they do also tend to only use one & ships can pile up there. TM claimed that with v1.3.01 that more landings would be used now & this does appear to be true somewhat.
Smashing your landings together shouldn't cause lost shipments. This suggestion is to prevent other ugly situations from occurring, especially trapping people on reed boats, if that is where they have decided to launch.
I just throw that in whenever I post about barge landings.
Here's another one ~ Make sure that your landings stick out in DEEP water, cuz barges are very picky animals. WM Trading ships work with any landing, but barges can refuse to work with landings in shallow water.
