im a little confused. Ok so i'm building a small pyramid. I have 15 labor houses and 1 overseer set to oversee pyramid construction. I have about 30 limestone blocks just sitting near the quarry. but the laborers wont put it on to the pyramid. Why is that. They have enough limestone.
I thought maybe its becuase they need fine limestone too. so i got 5 fine limstone blocks near there too but noone will add on the the pyramid

Hi Khamoisis :)

I'll start with basics first. Are you certain all the laborer huts are facing with an opening to the street? When you're placing buildings, make sure you see the arrow that indicates the "doorway" opening and that it's facing a path or road. If that's all in order, have you watched the overseer go to work? Assuming he too can get to the street, you should see him go to the pyramid site to direct work. Similarly, if you select each laborer house to see what they are doing, you may get some clues. Some should be hauling blocks or going to haul blocks. You can also try assigning your overseer to something else (mining maybe?) and watch him and the laborers.

Last but not least, if you attach a picture or a game save file, some would be willing to look closer at your problem.

Good Luck,
...Charley

Just another idea:
Is the pyramid on the same side of the river than the quarry? If they have to cross it, you need barques and landings frist.
What are your laborers doing? Have they food and wares? They will first try to get a decent living stock before they go to work.
Is the ramp of the pyramid (the heap of sand on one side) accessable for the laborers? (no rock terrain....) Is there a free way to the fine limestone blocks (you will need them too)?

Charley is right, a save file would help.

sorry about not having a screenshot to help. But i figured out why my workers wont build. they blocked off the ramp with limestone. So i deleted the pyramid and rebuilt it and they worked it out

Howdy, khamoisis!

Huh?

Do you still have a problem save or autosave before you did this solution? I would love to see it for my Labs.

You can use the Manage Attachments below the posting box to upload your .ank file.

Glad you got it working! :)

Are there any laborers at all quarrying the basalt? It's not unusual to have some laborers doing the task you've assigned through the overseer while other laborers that aren't working on the assigned task "finish up" other tasks. I think 6 is the max number of laborers for quarrying, so if you have more laborers than that, I wouldn't be surprised that they might continue the pyramid work. Select each laborer hut and see if any are quarrying; if they are, you're fine.

Give it time, they will stop. Unless you have another Overseer still set on construction. Quarrying limestone & Pyramid construction is a laborer vaccuum & has very high priority. More laborers will help get you your basalt.

It is much more complex than this also. It depends on where your basalt quarry is in relation to everything else. Distance. Quarries have business hours. Both the Overseer & laborer(s) must be there before 10PM, or they will give up & go home.
